COSRX AHA/BHA Clarifying Treatment Toner Review

“Disclosure: I bought this product with my own money. I am neither affiliated with this company nor am I being paid to write this post. My opinions are honest and my own.” Complete disclosure here

Hello, lovelies~ If you have oily skin like mine, you probably know that BHA is one of your best friends in combatting those awful acne. I haven’t used BHA ever since I started on retinoic acid, which is around 4 years ago. Since I am currently off retinoic acid, I started using BHA again in a toner form.

I haven’t heard of this brand before, but thought I would just try it out. I bought it from Nihonmart when they were having a promotion. It costs Rp 157,000 for 150 ml of product. It came in a separate white box that looks minimalist with all of the product information and ingredients printed on the sides.

The bottle itself is made from a semi-transparent plastic with a spray nozzle at the end. I thought it would come packaged in a flip bottle considering this is a toner, but I was wrong. It made it easier to apply the toner if you’re on the go, but I do prefer using a flip bottle when it comes to toners.

The ingredients list is quite short for a skincare product, to be honest. It has a combination of Glycolic Acid and Betaine Salicylate, which is grouped as a chemical exfoliant. I'm not sure if it has a low enough pH or concentration to work, though. Aside from that, it has Willow Bark Water and Apple Fruit water along with regular mineral water and water. There's a lot of water in here, lol. It uses Panthenol and (possibly) sodium lactate.

The consistency of the toner is similar to having water spritzed on your face. There is no stickiness during and after the toner application. I like to spray it all over my face and patting it gently with both hands. On days when I wear makeup, I like using a cotton pad to ensure that every bit of makeup is removed from my face.

It claims to 'reduce appearance of whiteheads, blackheads and blemishes, while cleansing pores', but I didn't really feel much difference compared to when I was using my Wardah Lightening toner. It didn't irritate my skin nor cause any unpleasant reaction to it. It just did the same thing that my other toner does.

Overall, it wasn't a bad toner nor was it a good one. It was just average compared to the other toner I have used. It made my skin soft and smooth and acne-free, but so does my other Rp 25,000 toner. I will be skipping this one once it runs out. I'll just stick to my cheaper ones, thanks.

    1. Hi, Gadis~ Iya nih, kurang oke di kulitku. Mungkin di kulit kamu bisa lebih ngefek. Kan beda-beda tiap kulit orang~ ^_^
