“Disclosure: I bought this product with my own money. I am neither affiliated with this company nor am I being paid to write this post. My opinions are honest and my own.” Complete disclosure here

Hello, lovelies~ Have you heard of Rollover Reaction before? Those residing in Indonesia would have (probably) already heard about it. It’s a local brand that produces the one makeup item that seems to be all the rage right now. If you guessed liquid lipstick, you’re right!

For a local brand, each of these lipsticks are priced at Rp. 119,000  for 5.5 grams. They come packaged in a separate box that has all of the product information and social media accounts. Also, the box corresponds to the same shade of the liquid lipstick. Pretty enough to make it as a gift without being wrapped, huh?

As for the lipstick itself, it has a boxed styled as opposed to the regular round lipstick tube that most lipsticks have. The top part of the case is has a glossy black surface, while the lower half is a transparent tube with a frosty finish. Probably to indicate how it hass a matte finish on the lips. You can kinda see the shade from the outside, but it isn’t really true to color. A swatch is still needed beore you decide to purchase them.

You can see the shade on the bottom of the lipstick printed on a rounded sticker sheet. Not that it matters, but I think it would be more appealing of the sticker is square to match the bottom of the lipstick tube.

The rectangular lipstick has a common doe-foot applicator that is on the short side. Not that hard to apply the product because it has a wide and narrow, slightly pointy edge to apply a clean, crisp line. One swipe from this lipstick gives you an opaque finish that can conceal your natural lip color. It’s quite concentrated that I don’t really need to even out my lips beforehand.

The first shade I bought was Lizzy because I like the name, lol. On their site, it is described as a nude greyish beige, which is far from what I usually pick for lipstick colors, but I was feeling adventurous (and the name is adorbs). Unfortunately, it washes out my complexion and ends up making me look pale. I have yet to use it to go out, but I think I have some ideas. Maybe with heavier eye makeup, it will look good on me.

The second shade I got was Sally, which has a pink undertone, described as a soft dusty pink. It works well with my complexion and is suitable to use for an every day makeup to the office. It is the right balance in being not too bright and not too soft, color wise.

The last shade I bought from them is Prudence, which is described as a warm brownish brick red shade. I usually shy away from colors like this, but I have been into them lately. I would usually wear this on the weekends, mall hopping. Is that even a word?

I’m not the biggest fan of matte lipsticks because I tend to (unconsciously) lick my lips whenever they feel dry. Still working on that, though. Promise. This liquid lipstick has a matte finish, but it doesn’t feel drying. It applies smoothly without any streaks, making it easier to apply because I don’t have to go back and forth to get an even finish.

As for the lifespan of the lipstick once it’s on my lips, it’s reasonable as the center of the lips kinda fade after I finish a less greasy meal like bread and such. For lipstick testing, I don’t par it with Rendang, Opor Ayam or Sate Padang, just to be neutral. Or should I?

For a local brand, I like their products, especially the sleek, minimalist packaging. I like some of the shades, but I am DYING to try out Saddie. Although I don’t wear the pale shades often, I do mix them with a bolder shade underneath to even out the light color on my lips.

Let me know in the comments below which one is your favorite shade from the collection. Thanks for reading and until then, I’ll see you later~
