L'Oreal Paris True Match Super-Blendable Liquid Foundation Review

Hello, lovelies~ My skin is finally back to its regular self, with an added acne bonus here and there, lol. Nonetheless, that means I can get back to reviewing makeup stuff, can I hear an amen?

Okay, to kick off the review post, let me just start with a foundation that can be bought easily at the drugstore with a not-so-high price tag. Although, I do forget the exact price. Lovelies, meet L'Oreal Paris True Match Liquid foundation.

Packaged inside a clear, glass bottle, this foundation is equipped with a gold reflective pump, which is always a plus in my book. It has a clear plastic cap to protect the pump from accidental pumping action.

This collection has undertone categories, namely warm, neutral and cool. In total, it has a little over 33 shades of foundation in the US. In Indonesia, however, there are only around ten, if not less than that. I bought the foundation in shade N3 (Nude Vanilla) because it's not overly pale and matches the shade of my neck.

As for application methods, it depends on how I wanted to look that day. If I wanted to look flawless with more coverage, I opted for a synthetic buffing brush. However, if I wanted to look more natural with less coverage, I chose a makeup sponge as it tends to sheer out most foundations.

The foundation has a light to medium coverage that are able to cover some of my mild acne scars, redness, and uneven skin tone. However, it doesn't cover my sun spot that well, so I'll need to go over it with a touch of concealer if I want it completely concealed. It has a satin finish, so it still looks like skin if blended properly.

On my face, the foundation felt lightweight, not sticky and not greasy. However, it does oxidize after about an hour or two on my face. It turned a shade darker than my natural skin tone, making me look dull. It contains SPF 17/PA ++ and has a mediocre oil control, but I do set it with a powder, so that elongates the oil control.

All in all, I like the :

  • availability in almost all drugstores across Indonesia
  • pump dispenser
  • light to medium coverage
  • lightweight feel
  • non greasy and non sticky finish
  • satin finish
  • additional sunscreen

I dislike that:

  • The foundation oxidizes on me
  • it has mediocre oil control

Have you tried this foundation from L'Oreal? How do you handle oxidization in foundations?

I would love to hear your thoughts on this, so drop me a comment below and I'll reply them as soon as I can. Until then, I'll see you later~
