Kojic Acid and Coconut Oil Benefits For Skin

Sponsored Post

Hello, lovelies~ When choosing products for my skin, I always make sure that they are able to moisturize and brighten because I just hate looking dull. I don't mind looking darker, as long as it's not dull.

I mean, yeah, it's nice to have moisturized, supple skin, but wouldn't it be better to have supple and lighter skin? Not lighter in a sense that I'll be turning as white as a ghost at the end of the treatment. More like restoring my skin tone to before the sun damaged and tanned it. -_-

In this post, I will be sharing the overview of kojic acid and coconut oil, along with the benefits they have for our skin.

Benefits of kojic acid on skin
Kojic acid is a substance that was first discovered from mushrooms, but later found in the fermentation of Japanese rice wine or sake. When it is applied on your skin, beauty products containing kojic acid will help lighten any dark spots and your overall complexion.
Coconut oil may be the most useful ingredient in the kitchen, but it is also useful for your beauty routine. Loaded with various blends of fatty acids, this oil is one of the most moisturizing when applied to your skin.

How do they benefit your skin?

Melanocyte causing skin discoloration like sun spot

Kojic acid works by stopping the production of melanin in your skin that is causing all those sun spots, age spots, and any other types hyperpigmentation.

Coconut oil, on the other hand, restores your skin's moisture level and provides an aid for those with dry and irritated skin conditions such as eczema, psoriasis, dermatitis, etc.

Why should you use it?
I can't really force you to if you don't want to, lol. However, I do prefer using kojic acid as a lightening ingredient for my skin because of it gentleness. I know that each skin has different reactions to things, but kojic acid works slowly, but surely to lighten any dark spots I have. It is also considered safe as it is derived from plants.

How do you use it?
I usually apply it to my skin like any other creams or lotions before bedtime. This is because our skin regenerates best during night time, so it can work more effectively in the absence of sunlight.

Additional Tips

  • It's best to look for Virgin Coconut Oil as this has more antioxidants compared to pure coconut oil that is more commonly used. As it uses minimal heat extraction, the antioxidants are kept and is more beneficial to the skin.
  • When you use any whitening product, always make sure to use sunscreen during the day time. It will helps protect you from UVA rays that is know to tan the skin.

I hope this blog post has given you some knowledge on skin lighteners and moisturizers, being kojic acid and coconut oil. Now, on to the second part of my blog post, a beauty event!
