What is Your Lazy Skincare Routine?

Hello, lovelies~ I know I have stressed the importance of taking care of your skin and that it will be a good investment in the future as you won't be needing to wear lots and lots of makeup. Yeah, yeah, I know it keeps acne away from our skin and helps speeds up the process of regeneration.

I feel lazy to do all that sometimes. Hey, I'm only human, of flesh and blood I'm made~

Never fear, though, I have a backup skincare routine for these conditions. By these conditions, I mean those nights when I just got home and felt really tired and all I wanna do is just go to bed immediately.

As much as I want to go straight to dreamland and meet pink unicorns with wings, I still have to take a shower. A warm, soothing shower that is capable of soothing my soul and ease me into a state of relaxation.

Before I get in the shower, I use Bioderma Sensibio H2O to remove my makeup that day. This usually takes 2-3 cotton pads because I need to make sure that I have wiped my face as clean as possible.

After I got out of the shower, I pat my face dry and applied Laneige Sleeping Pack EX quite heavily evenly on my face. Then, it's bedtime!

What do you usually do when you're too lazy with your regular skincare? Do you cut corners like I did or still go through it all? Share your story in the comments below and until then, I'll see you later~

Kojiesan Beauty Blogger Gathering Dare To Shine

Hello, lovelies~ How was your weekend? I hope you all had a good time with the people you cherish. Last Saturday, I attended an event from Kojiesan at Bloeming Bar & Restaurant, fx Sudirman. Since it was a holiday, Mr. G kindly drove me there because...

Okay, I assume you're done laughing now, I shall continue my post, lol.

She also said that Kojiesan has won the Watsons Health Beauty & Wellness Awards three years in a row for being the best Bath Soap Brand of the Year!

Kojiesan is now available at Hero Supermarket, Lion Superindo, Giant Extra, Dan-Dan, grand Swalayan, Naga Swalayan, Guardian, Alfa Midi, Diamond, Ranch Market, Farmers Market and Lotte Mart.

I was one of the speakers, so I explained how kojic acid can help to lighten the skin and how virgin coconut oil help restore moisture to dry and rough skin. If you missed the event, you can always read about kojic acid and virgin coconut oil here. I hope my presentation is clear enough for the other beauty bloggers to understand. :)

The last speaker is a beauty blogger that you have already known and love, Agnes Oryza. She shared her experience after using Kojiesan lightening products on her skin for two weeks. With her bubbly personality, she explained to the bloggers that her skin became brighter within two weeks of use. Results may vary, of course.

Right after the presentation ended, the bloggers are asked to take a selfie with Kojiesan products. As everyone is getting their products out, the MC said that the selfie needs to be taken at Guardian, which is not that far from the venue.

Behind the scene of selfies
So, off we go to find Kojiesan products and took selfies, welfies, groupfies, and whatever-else-fies there is available right now in the blogging world. Agnes and I tooks selfies as well, of course.

We had tons of fun picking the products for the selfie session! Right after that, the winners of the tweeting contest and selfie contest is announced. I forgot to take a picture because I was still laughing at the fun selfie session with Agnes and the other bloggers.

Nichijou : Adventure in IKEA Alam Sutera

Ikea Indonesia

Hello, lovelies~ About a week ago, IKEA opened its stores in Indonesia, one that is famous for its stylish furnitures and Swedish meatballs. I was looking at its e-catalog on their website to get an idea of what they're selling.

No, I have never been to an IKEA store before, sue me.

Mandatory selfie while waiting at the entrace gate
The store itself is located in Tangerang, near the Alam Sutera exit from Jakarta - Tangerang toll road. I doubt you'll miss it given the huge blue building. We went there around 11 am and the parking space was already full. I guess people are still venturing out the new place.
Ikea indonesia child day care

Luckily, we got a parking space and went upstairs to find a daycare center for children to play around and wait for their parents to finish shopping.

We went to the second floor first, which is the showroom where everything is neatly placed for inspirations. Bathrooms, bedrooms, living rooms, you name it! Since we're not currently renovating our place, we just browsed through the store.

It has a pathway with arrows, so you'll never be lost, lol. Mr. G and I was hungry halfway and took shortcuts through the showrooms and reached the canteen.

Ikea indonesia canteen meatballs

We were welcomed with the view above that makes us skip the thought of having lunch there. There's no way in the world I would queue that long just for a plate of meatballs.

Ikea indonesia brocolli doll

We continued our journey downstairs where the home decors and small bits are sold. There are candles, fabric, towels, and everything else you could think of. This place is huge!

The adventure continues to the warehouse, where the furniture is packed neatly in flat boxes and placed on shelves for customers to take themselves. Just like Lotte Wholesale, really.

ikea indonesia snack sweden

We got bored of the warehouse and exited towards the market hall. There are snacks, both sweet and savoury, so we got both of them. Since my coffee press is broken, I bought a new one.

Also, they have this automated ice cream cone machine where it pipes an ice cream in exchange for a token. It costs Rp 4,000, but since the line is long, I didn't want to taste it. I just recorded someone who bought it, lol. Talk about being cheap.

We got lunch at Mal Alam Sutera because it has lesser crowds, lol. We're a bunch of people that hates getting in line for something so trivial. We ended up eating Mie Lekker with Siomay at the mal's food court.

Have you been to IKEA at Alam Sutera? Let me know in the comments below. Thanks for reading and until then, I'll see you later~

Kojic Acid and Coconut Oil Benefits For Skin

Sponsored Post

Hello, lovelies~ When choosing products for my skin, I always make sure that they are able to moisturize and brighten because I just hate looking dull. I don't mind looking darker, as long as it's not dull.

I mean, yeah, it's nice to have moisturized, supple skin, but wouldn't it be better to have supple and lighter skin? Not lighter in a sense that I'll be turning as white as a ghost at the end of the treatment. More like restoring my skin tone to before the sun damaged and tanned it. -_-

In this post, I will be sharing the overview of kojic acid and coconut oil, along with the benefits they have for our skin.

Benefits of kojic acid on skin
Kojic acid is a substance that was first discovered from mushrooms, but later found in the fermentation of Japanese rice wine or sake. When it is applied on your skin, beauty products containing kojic acid will help lighten any dark spots and your overall complexion.
Coconut oil may be the most useful ingredient in the kitchen, but it is also useful for your beauty routine. Loaded with various blends of fatty acids, this oil is one of the most moisturizing when applied to your skin.

How do they benefit your skin?

Melanocyte causing skin discoloration like sun spot

Kojic acid works by stopping the production of melanin in your skin that is causing all those sun spots, age spots, and any other types hyperpigmentation.

Coconut oil, on the other hand, restores your skin's moisture level and provides an aid for those with dry and irritated skin conditions such as eczema, psoriasis, dermatitis, etc.

Why should you use it?
I can't really force you to if you don't want to, lol. However, I do prefer using kojic acid as a lightening ingredient for my skin because of it gentleness. I know that each skin has different reactions to things, but kojic acid works slowly, but surely to lighten any dark spots I have. It is also considered safe as it is derived from plants.

How do you use it?
I usually apply it to my skin like any other creams or lotions before bedtime. This is because our skin regenerates best during night time, so it can work more effectively in the absence of sunlight.

Additional Tips

  • It's best to look for Virgin Coconut Oil as this has more antioxidants compared to pure coconut oil that is more commonly used. As it uses minimal heat extraction, the antioxidants are kept and is more beneficial to the skin.
  • When you use any whitening product, always make sure to use sunscreen during the day time. It will helps protect you from UVA rays that is know to tan the skin.

I hope this blog post has given you some knowledge on skin lighteners and moisturizers, being kojic acid and coconut oil. Now, on to the second part of my blog post, a beauty event!

You can read the invitation above and RSVP to the details given above. Due to limited seats, I encourage you to register because the first 30 registrants will get goodies! I will be attending the event, of course, so I'll see you this Saturday~

Thanks for reading and until then, I'll see you later~

7 Songs That Takes Me Back to My School Days

Hello, lovelies~ I now know why old people insist on listening to their old music, no matter how outdated that may sound. It's not just the tune of the song that they love, it's the memories behind the song itself that adds more value to it.

Having that said, yes, we are getting older and yes, I am in a state of missing my salad days. *holds self to not cry while writing this post*

Growing up, music is one of the many escapes in my life from daily routine and struggles. Well, assignments were one of those struggles back in those school days, I guess. I remember going home from school and picking out what song I want to listen to from my many cassettes. After that, I just sat on the edge of my bed, doing my homework with the song in the background.

Getting emotional here.

Okay. I have compiled seven songs that immediately takes me back to my school days, beginning from junior high all the way to high school.

Maybelline White Super Fresh Long Lasting Cake Powder Review

Maybelline White Super Fresh Long Lasting Cake Powder Review Swatch

Hello, lovelies~ I am back on track to reviewing makeup that has been queuing in my vanity drawers. A little warning before this post, my skin is not at its best because I was trying out a serum that turned out to be disastrous. Urgh.

Don't you just hate it when you're excited about a product only to find out that it broke you out in the end? Is the previous sentence making sense? Is the world round?

L'Oreal Paris True Match Super-Blendable Liquid Foundation Review

Hello, lovelies~ My skin is finally back to its regular self, with an added acne bonus here and there, lol. Nonetheless, that means I can get back to reviewing makeup stuff, can I hear an amen?

Okay, to kick off the review post, let me just start with a foundation that can be bought easily at the drugstore with a not-so-high price tag. Although, I do forget the exact price. Lovelies, meet L'Oreal Paris True Match Liquid foundation.

Bio Oil Launch in Indonesia

Bio Oil Launch in Indonesia

Hello, lovelies~ Last Saturday, I was invited to the launch of Bio-Oil, which has been an internet cult product for the past few years. Bloggers of all walks of life has sung praises to this magical cure for skin problems, one of them being stretch marks. Excited and all spruced up, I headed to The XXI Lounge at Plaza Senayan where the event took place.

When I got there, there were a couple other bloggers that were already there. I snapped a few pictures before comfortably sharing a table with Sheilla, Raden, Suu and Yuri. As usual, we took selfies right before the event. Suu was sitting at the far left, so I couldn't take a selfie with her. Oh well, maybe next time. :)

The Body Shop Vitamine E Aqua Boost Sorbet Review

The Body Shop Vitamine E Aqua Boost Sorbet
Hello, lovelies~ My face is slowly healing after the last phase of “Mission Fade Those Sun Spots”, which is another story for another time, of course. That being said, I am easing my skin back to my regular skincare, but focusing more on moisturizing and nourishing it during this crucial healing period.

Enter Vitamin E from The Body Shop. Having combination/oily skin that is also sensitive and acne prone, I am slightly cautious when applying Vitamin E on my face. It’s not that it’s a bad thing, my skin just didn’t like it so much. It is possibly due to the overly moisturizing consistency of vitamin E that can send my skin into an acne episode. I just take it as my cue to avoid vitamin E in most beauty products.
The Body Shop Vitamine E Aqua Boost Sorbet

However, since vitamin E helps skin to recover, I decided to try it out again with Vitamin E Aqua Boost Sorbet from The Body Shop that I received a few weeks ago. This pale pink cream that is packaged inside a cloudy glass jar claimed give hydration to the skin all day long without being too heavy on the skin.
