DOAPJ DIY: Customized Scented Powder

Hello, lovelies~ I was stumbling the internet last week when I found a page about making your own scented powder. Being the ever-so-curious me, I decided to try it out for myself and... It works! So, here I am sharing it to you.

Let's gather out ingredients and materials, shall we?

If you don't like the feel of corn starch or are allergic to it, you can substitute it with regular unscented baby powder. Oh, if you don't have a cotton ball, you can use something similar, such as a cotton swab or cotton pads.

Now, to the fun part. Mixing things up.

DOAPJ DIY : Oats Activate!

Hello, lovelies~ Oats are quite well-known in the skincare section as being an ingredient that can help moisturize even the most sensitive skin. However, did you know that it can aid in treating acne and blemishes, too?

Its ability to soak up excess oil on the surface of the skin, makes it a great ingredient to be used in most skincare products. The texture of the oatmeal makes it the perfect natural exfoliator because it is gentle on the skin, but strong enough to remove any dead skin cells on the face.

Oatmeal can also be used as a cleanser as they contain 'saponin', which is a soap-like ingredient that can help in removing dirt from the skin. Some sources say that saponins are antifungal in nature to protect the plant from any harm. However, I'm not sure if it is still an antifungal when it's already packaged in industrial boxes.

I like to use this oat cleanser in the morning because of its gentle nature in cleansing the skin. I just grabbed a handful of oats and add enough water just to form a paste. After massaging it for an entire minute, I rinsed my face and pat it dry. Love the smooth feeling of my face in the morning!

After reading all those beneficial properties of oatmeal, I bet you would think twice if you look at an oatmeal now. Today, I'm gonna share a face mask made from oats that can help treat your acne! Let's go!

5 Makeup Tips For Your Wedding Day

Sponsored post

Hello, lovelies~ It seems like it was only yesterday that I prepared for the wedding, one of the biggest days in my (and Mr. G's) life. I remembered the hustle and bustle of the prep, months before the big day. Picking out the wedding invitation card, going to wedding dress fittings, and fussing over the details of the decoration for the wedding venue. Although it sounded tiring, I didn't regret any moment of it.

For those brides-to-be who are reading this right now and perplexing on what step should you prepare next, allow me to be of an assistance to you. Note that I am not a professional wedding planner or wedding organizer, but I was a bride not so long ago. I can kinda understand your sudden urge to yell at someone, lol.

Having that said, I am here to share some things I learned during the wedding preparation process, makeup-wise, of course. Let's put aside all those other things (invitation, decoration, etc) and talk about things to remember when putting on makeup on your wedding day.

The Body Shop Tea Tree Oil Line

Hello, lovelies~ Most of you must have experienced acne at least once in their lifetime, I assume. I know I have been an acne 'patient' for nearly half of my life. There are ways to treat it, ranging from beauty procedures to skincare routines at home.

The Body Shop has a line that helps treat acne the natural way, using tea tree oil. It is already known that tea tree oil is one of the natural ways of treating blemishes. They have a variety of products, starting from cleansers all the way to BB cream. Here are some of them that were sent to me for review purposes.

Nichijou : Two Birthdays and an OOTD

Hello, lovelies~ Hope your week has been tremendous and fun considering yesterday is our country's Independence day. I didn't join in any contests that they usually have, but I still have fun nonetheless since last week.

One of the reason being was Mr. G's birthday. I wanted to throw a party for him, but he wanted a simple dinner, just the two of us. So, we went to his favorite restaurant for roast duck and dim sum. I wish you all the best, my adorable baby bear~ ^_^

Another birthday last week is Mr. G's niece and we went to celebrate with her. We got her those rainbow loom thingies that you make yourself to form a bracelet. Unfortunately, I already wrap the present before realizing that I forgot to snap a pic of it.

It was celebrated at a pizza outlet over at Kota Kasablanka. We took a little field trip over to the Southern parts of Jakarta, all the way from the North. Road Trip!

Hello, lovelies~ Green tea has been one of my favorite drinks ever since my stressfull days back at uni. It would always help me calm down and focus on the piles of assignments I have to make. Now, it is still my favorite beverages to unwind.

Knowing the huge benefits of green tea to my body (and skin), I try to incorporate it into my beauty regime. Once a week, I use the homemade green tea face mask for an antioxidant boost on my skin. Click here for the video on how to make one

Dry Skin Saviors

“Disclosure: I bought this product with my own money. I am neither affiliated with this company nor am I being paid to write this post. My opinions are honest and my own.” Complete disclosure here

Hello, lovelies~ This post is for all you dry skin type readers out there. I have been experiencing dry skin lately, possibly because of the retinoic acid I've been using at night for the past couple of months. To counteract those dry flaky skin on my face, I've been using products that are hydrating.

Yes, I do have a couple of items that are meant for dry skin conditions, especially body care products. So, I thought I'd share some of my favorite items to save my skin from dryness.

1) Etude House Collagen Moistfull Cream
A re-discovery of the month! The collagen inside helps to further moisturize the skin without being too greasy.

2) Laneige Water Sleeping Pack_EX
Indeed, a product that suits most skin types. My oily skin loves it as much as my dry skin does. It sinks in almost instantly, leaving my skin hydrated and plump.

3) Laneige Snow BB Soothing Cushion SPF 50/PA+++
Unlike my Hera BB Cushion, this is one of the most moisturizing cushions I own. It doesn't accentuate any of the flaky bits of skin, hence making it my ultimate product when my skin is dry.

Skincare Basic : Probiotics for Acne?

Hello, lovelies~ What if I told you that there are creatures out there that can aid in your acne problems? As a matter of fact, they don't live that far away. They're inside your stomach, helping you digest your food and keeping a healthy environment in your gut.

They belong to a category called probiotics and one of the few I wanted to introduce in this post is called Lactobacillus acidophillus.

*shakes hand if it has one*

Probiotics are commonly found in fermented drinks and food. Yogurt and sauerkraut are just a few examples of food loaded with beneficial bacteria for our body.

"How does it help with my acne if it's in my stomach?"

Nichijou : Best Combini Brownie!

Hello, lovelies~ How are you all doing during the festive holiday of Idul Fitri? I hope you're all well and gotten a chance to visit and spend time with family and friends. As for me, I get to spend it at home with Mr. G, enjoying the vacant streets of Jakarta.

Our week has been pretty much the same everyday. We woke up and went to his sister's place to check up on her. Benefits of having a doctor in the family, I guess.

Then, we're off for some breakfast or lunch, depending on the time of our visit. Today, we wanted to eat Bakmie Siantar at Kelapa Gading, but it was still closed for the holidays. Well, there's always McDonalds!

shu uemura Rouge Unlimited BG 931 Review and Swatch

“Disclosure: I bought this product with my own money. I am neither affiliated with this company nor am I being paid to write this post. My opinions are honest and my own.” Complete disclosure here

Hello, lovelies~ Last week, I went out with a fellow beauty junkie that you all may have known already. If you guessed Endi, then you're right. A hundred points to you~

We had lunch and went shopping afterwards. One our stops are shu uemura, of course.

As I was waiting for Endi to finish applying his eyeliner, I tried out some of their Rouge Unlimited lipsticks. I have tried one and love the formulation, so I was just looking for another work-safe-but-slightly-bright shade. I stumbled on the BG 931, tried it out, and ended up buying it in a heartbeat.

Here's why.
