Review Bobbi Brown Long-Wear Even Finish Foundation SPF 15

“Disclosure: I bought this product with my own money. I am neither affiliated with this company nor am I being paid to write this post. My opinions are honest and my own.” Complete disclosure here

Hello, lovelies~ I have been wanting to post this review for the longest time, but I didn't have the mood to write a couple of weeks ago. However, my writing mood is back, so here is the long overdue review on one of my longed foundation from Bobbi Brown.

Nestled inside the black outer box, the foundation comes in a glass bottle fully equipped with a pump on the end. Always appreciate it if foundation has pumps because I know the exact measurement each time I use it on my face.

As for the ingredients, I've checked it before my purchase and made sure that it was free from those that may irritate my face. It does contain Shea Butter that can be slightly moisturizing fro my combination/oily face, but it didn't prove to be a problem. One of the downside for me is the presence of Lavender because my skin is a bit sensitive towards it.

As for the sunscreen, it uses a mixture of ethyhexyl methoxycinnamate, trimethylsiloxysilicate, and titanium dioxide. This does NOT suffice as your daily sunscreen, so please use a good layer of sunscreen underneath if you want to have outdoor activities that day.

My shade is Warm Sand 2.5, which is a yellow-toned shade that matches my skin tone. There are a little over twenty shades offered from this collection, but I'm not sure how many of them are available here in Indonesia at the counters.

The foundation gave a satin or semi-matte finish, making it look like 'healthy', flawless skin instead of a flat-matte look. Here is a comparison from the front of my face where there are uneven skin tones around the edges of my nose and cheeks. I reckon it would do a good job of concealing my under eye circles if I color correct it beforehand.

The photo above showed the medium coverage the foundation gives, able to conceal most of the redness of my acne scars. It slightly fades my sun spot, but I need another layer of concealer to get it to be hidden. The oil control is quite nice for one that contains moisturizing ingredients like glycerin and shea butter, but still is mediocre. Great coverage for everyday use and feels lightweight on my face.

Another downside I found with this foundation is the longevity that isn't that long wearing on my oily and easily-sweaty face. Unlike my Hera BB cushion that is sweatproof, this foundation isn't one that stands a chance against sweat.

Overall, the lavender extract is the one thing that broke the deal for me to like and repurchase this foundation. Yes, I like the lightweight, satin finish that blends easily and photographs beautifully despite the sunscreen, but I hate to fork over nearly half a million Rupiah for a bottle of foundation that is not visible after a day out in the sun.

I wouldn't repurchase this even if it goes on a 50% discount, I'd rather go back to using my one true love from the drugstore, Revlon Colorstay. Maybe next time, Bobbi, yeah? I'm still curious over your foundations.

How about you? Have you tried any foundation from Bobbi Brown? Let me know in the comments below on your thoughts or which one you want to try from them. Until then, I'll see you later~
