Review Lavie Luxury Faux Lashes in Athena

“Disclosure: I bought this product with my own money. I am neither affiliated with this company nor am I being paid to write this post. My opinions are honest and my own.” Complete disclosure here

Hello, lovelies~ I think this is the first blog post about false eyelashes on Diary of a Product Junkie. It is a rarity to wear eyelashes on a daily basis for me, but there are times when I do wear them for the sake of beauty, lol.

Review Hera UV Mist Cushion Summer Proof

“Disclosure: I bought this product with my own money. I am neither affiliated with this company nor am I being paid to write this post. My opinions are honest and my own.”

Hello, lovelies~ The sun has been blazing its power unto us lately, hasn't it? This is the time to wear my long lasting base makeup product to keep my face looking fresh and still have an even skin tone all through the day.

As with most cushion makeup bases, it comes with a round case that is almost similar to one of a compact powder, complete with a push-button to open it. I bought this foundation at ibuybeauti for USD $ 45.99, with the extra refill. They have free worldwide shipping which is why I purchase it there.

One Sunny Day

Hello, lovelies~ I'm slowly easing my way back into my usual blogging schedule after the hectic wedding prep, but there are still some off days. Never mind that! Let's just get this post started~

Sharing a few of our pre-wed photos this time, so this is not beauty related. Hehehe, I haven't posted a lifestyle/nichijou type post lately.

Oh, by the time this post is published, Mr. G and I are having our wedding reception and since I can't invite all of you to come join our celebration, I thought it'd be cool to share some of our pre wed photos with you.

*group hug*

With the rainy season gone, summer is (once again) upon us here in Jakarta. We thought about shooting our pre-wed photos in a studio to avoid any weather issues that day. However, the weather seemed to be friendly that week, so we shot the photos outdoor.

Mr. G & I wanted our photos to be one that has a laid back yet fun atmosphere where our personalities show. We named the concept 'One Sunny Day'. The photos below are some behind-the-scene photos or ones that didn't make the cut. ^_^

"Gen, I'm falling!"
"Don't worry, I got you!"
*clings on back to make me fall even more*

Current Hair Care Routine

Hello, lovelies~ I am currently growing out my hair for ze wedding, so I can have an updo, lol. Otherwise, it'll be too short to have such updo. Since I don't have the guts to try out new things on my face right now, I'll just share my hair care routine in this post~

Once every two days, I wash my hair using a non silicone shampoo only on my scalp, not on my hair ends. This method helps to reduce any excess oil on my scalp during the second day. I massage it for a few minutes to get the dirt and excess oil off. After that, I just rinsed everything off and repeat if I feel the need to do it.

V10 Plus Water Based Peeling Facial Mask Review

“Disclosure: This product was sent to me for review purposes in exchange for my honest opinion after trying it out.” Complete disclosure here

Hello, lovelies~ I'm back~! ish. Haven't really gotten around my usual posting schedule, but I'm getting there, yeah? It's only a couple more days to 'the day', if you know what I'm talking about. The nerves haven't arrived yet, but I think it will be there this Saturday morning. I just hope everything goes as planned. Anyway, before I went on a long rant, let me just start the review, 'kay?

With the wedding day closing in, I am taking real good care of my skin and exfoliating more than I usually do. I don't want to have a stack of dead skin cells accompanying me down the aisle. Ick. So, I was more than happy to receive the V10 Plus

L'Occitane au Brésil

Hello, lovelies~ World Cup 2014 in Brazil is nearly upon us, who's excited? I know I am! Couldn't really say that I've been updated with football news when I graduated from uni, but it's always exciting to see the matches between clubs. Now, it's between countries!

Brazil not only celebrates World Cup this year, but also a new dynamic range from my favorite French brand, L'Occitane en Provence.  The founder, Olivier Baussan, collaborated with a bunch of Brazillian artists and created L'Occitane au Brésil.

I was invited to the press event last Wednesday, so I went straight from my practice with Mr. G. I know, Mr. G makes quite a lot of appearances in my blog lately, huh? lol.

The event took place at SKYE Bar and Restaurant over at Menara BCA. I've never been here before because I've heard of the queues to get in. You know me, I'm super duper ultra lazy when it comes to queuing. At the registration, we were given scarves and an instant photo studio using all the props to make it very 'World Cup'-ish.

My Summer Beauty Must-Haves

Hello, lovelies~ The weather has been SO HOT lately at my area. I've been seeing the sun all day long without any hint of clouds in the sky. How is the weather in your area?

I wanna share my beauty products I use when the weather is super hot. These are beauty items ranging from skincare, makeup, body care, and hair care products. Let's just start!

1. Sunscreen

This is a must for the hot summer days, especially in Indonesia where it is forever summer. Oke lah, not forever summer, we have occasional rain here and there. Plus floods!

Anyway~ There is no excuse for me not to wear sunscreen. I have a huge hyperpigmentation a.k.a sun spot on my left cheek as a reminder to wear sunscreen daily. Currently, I'm using one from Skin Aqua and TheFaceShop.

My favorite is still the one from Skin Aqua because of their consistency, but I have heard from some of my readers that it may cause acne for some of them. TheFaceShop's is not really my favorite since it is too oily for my current skin type.

2. Sweatproof Makeup Base

Despite our hot weather, it is hard to find a BB cream or foundation that is sweatproof. If the local brands can come up with a sweatproof makeup base, it would be awesome! Since I can't find one that is locally made here, I turn to one from Korea called Hera.

The Hera UV Mist Cushion is just... wonderful! It covers any uneven skin tone and redness present on my face. The best part is it is sweatproof! I tested it by cooking in my ever-so-hot kitchen and came back with the product still on my face! What is this sorcery?!

3. Powder Foundation

If you can't get a sweatproof makeup base, a powder foundation may just be your best friend during the unforgiving summer weather. It won't melt off as easily as liquid base beauty products and keeps the shine off your face.

I am recently in love with Maybelline Pure Minerals Compact because of the travel friendly size and functions. Plus, it has a cute Cat Woman on the case, which makes it even cuter than it was before! ^_^

4. Clarifying Shampoo

Hot weather + oily scalp = Greasy Hair! I have fine hair with an oily scalp, so I avoid silicone-based shampoos like a plague. The silicones gets accumulated on the scalp, weighing the hair down, resulting in limp, oily, and lifeless hair.

Ginvera Green Tea Pomelo shampoo is one that I have been using for these past few weeks of summer. It has a subtle green tea scent that refreshes my hair. Also, sodium laureth sulfate is not the second ingredient after water, which makes it a lot gentler for a clarifying shampoo.

5. Silicone-Loaded Conditioner

As opposed to my religious following of a non-silicone shampoo, my conditioner is LOADED with them. Reason being? The ends of my hair is currently dry, so a silicone-based conditioner helps to lock in the moisture, preventing any dry ends.

Any conditioner will do, really. However, I chose the L'Oreal Re-Nutrition Nourishing Conditoner because the silicone is higher in composition compared to the others. I applied this only to the ends of my hair and voila! No more dry ends!

6. Fresh Fragrances

One of the things I hate from hot summer days are the smell of sweat producing and filling the room wherever I go, lol. Although I am thankful that I can sweat like a normal person, the smell are just unbearable sometimes.

For my summer picks, I went with a fresh, fruity scent that lifts the mood. Victoria Secret's Sheer Love and L'Occitane en Provence The Vert are my favorites for the summer. It has a light scent that isn't too overbearing for the olfactory sense. Sadly, the latter has been repackaged and can't really be found in stores anymore.

What are your beauty must-haves this summer? A facial spray, perhaps? Let me know in the comments below and until then, I'll see you later~ ^_^
