Review Clinique Repairwear Laser Focus New Version

“Disclosure: This product was sent to me for review purposes in exchange for my honest opinion after trying it out.” Complete disclosure here

Hello, lovelies~ Wait. Before you click out because you think you've seen this post before, don't. You are not having an episode of déjà vu. You are not seeing doubles, so just stay with me here.

Despite the similar name that I have posted a couple of months ago, Clinique came up with the upgraded version of their Repairwear Laser Focus Serum. Clinique Indonesia is so generous to provide me with a bottle of this serum, so here is what I think about it.

Packaging-wise, it is similar with the older version of the Repairwear Laser Focus. The grey bottle with the dropper at the end. Same old.

The ingredients for the new formula consisted of licorice extract that helps to whiten the skin. This helps to even out the skin tone in terms of redness or uneven color all over the face. St. Paul's wort is also another ingredient that helps to condition and smooth the skin, leaving it soft and silky. All these extracts are placed up high on the list of ingredients, which is always a good sign in my book. ^_^

What felt really different is the consistency of the serum. The old one is slightly sticky and took quite some time to be absorbed into the skin. However, the new one is lighter, less sticky, and gets absorbed almost instantly.

I would say that the old formula is more suitable for people with dry skin, whereas the new formula is targeted for people with combination/oily skin. Despite my previous statement, it is meant for all skin types.

I use it every morning and night before I use my moisturizer. Three to four drops should be enough for my whole face. I sometimes mix it with my foundation for it to be a tinted moisturizer. The lightweight feel on my face just feels good~

After using it for a month now, I feel that my skin is softer and smoother. It also evens out my skin tone up to the point that I rarely use foundation for everyday nowadays. My face looks brighter and has more of that natural 'glow'. The fine lines on my forehead are slightly reduced, so I am eager to finish the whole bottle to rid of those pesky lines. I love the new formula!

All in all, I love that:
- it has a dropper, thus making it more hygienic.
- the consistency of the new formula suits my combination/oily skin a lot better.
- it brightens and softens my face.
- it is fragrance free!

I do think it would be better if :
- it is packed inside an airless pump bottle, so the vitamin C will last longer since there will be less air exposure

The Clinique Repairwear Laser Focus is available in most Clinique counters for the price of Rp 725,000 (30 ml) and Rp 950,000 (50 ml). Have you tried it? Let me know what you think about it or if you have any Clinique products that is you favorite. Until then, I'll see you later~
