Review Etude House Sweet Recipe Dear My Jelly Lips-talk

“Disclosure: I bought this product with my own money. I am neither affiliated with this company nor am I being paid to write this post. My opinions are honest and my own.” Complete disclosure here

Hello, lovelies~ Dry, flaky, chapped lips are the majority of problems when using a lip product that is just too drying that it sucks out the moisture from the lips. That is why I usually prefer tinted lip balms or sheer lipsticks as it is more comfortable on my lips.

A couple of seasons ago, Etude House released their Sweet Recipe collection that centers around desserts and patisserie. They based their products on choux, cookies, and jelly beans.

I didn't get a chance to get them because I was on a spending ban at that time. Now that I'm off spending ban, I bought two of their lipsticks. Yeay~ Just look at that adorable box. Too cute~

The lipstick case is not as colorful as the outer box, but still has that cute factor. The lower part of the lipstick case is decorated with small bead-like structure that is semi-transparent. I just love it!

As with most recent Etude House lipsticks, they have an embossed logo that is just girly and sweet. It's similar to the previous collection, but I can't remember what it was. Dear Darling something. ^^;;

The shade I bought was JOR023 and JPK004 because those are the only ones left in the shop I ordered from. JOR023 is a sheer red with a hint of orange, while JPK004 is a sheer pinky nude that is almost similar to my lip color.

After trying it out on the back of my hand, I proceed to apply it on my lips. I can immediately feel a lip balm consistency that does not dry out my lips. However, it's not a product that can heal any kind of dryness, mind you.

The lipstick is a sheer one, meaning you would have to swipe more than once to have an opaque finish. It really does feel like a tinted lip balm and wears like one, so it does disappear after a meal and/or drink. Even if I don't eat, it's usually gone after an hour or two.

To sum up, I like that :
- it has a cute packaging that just cheers me up when I'm feeling lousy.
- the packaging is quite sturdy.
- it doesn't dry out my lips.
- it is sheer, so I can control the intensity of the color from the start.

However, I don't like that:
- it doesn't stay that long on my lips.
- it sinks into the fine lines/cracks on my lips, so I need to scrub my lips beforehand.
- the lighter color (JPK004) needs a lip concealer for the color to show through on pigmented lips.

Is it worth the money spending around Rp 100,000, you ask? For a sheer lipstick that doesn't dry out my lips, it is for me! I'll be looking at other colors, preferably one in a pink shade.

Have you tried these yet? What are your thoughts on them? Let me know in the comment below~ Until then, I'll see you later~ ^_^
