Laneige Water Sleeping Pack_EX Review

“Disclosure: I bought this product with my own money. I am neither affiliated with this company nor am I being paid to write this post. My opinions are honest and my own.” Complete disclosure here

Hello, lovelies~  I remember back when I first started blogging in 2010, Laneige was one of the Korean beauty brands that I was introduced to.
The two products that I wanted to try back then in 2010

I looked up reviews and was planning on buying it, but I sorta hesitated because my skin weren't as good as it is now. Until finally, three years after that (today), I bought them.

I bought the miniature sleeping pack to try out the best known product from Laneige because I didn't wanna end up with a big jar of regret sleeping pack that doesn't work on me. The miniature set came with a refiner (toner), an emulsion, an essence, and the sleeping pack.

This is not a sleeping pack.

A sleeping pack, for those of you who don't know, is actually a face mask that is applied at the end of your skincare routine at night and washed off the morning after. The concept is practical for those lazy/tiring nights where all I could care for is sleep. No need to wait for the mask to dry and wash it off because it is meant to be washed off the next morning.

Both the miniature and the real size is packaged in a twist off jar, but there is a spatula for the real size version. Not a huge of fan of it, but I'll tolerate it since the color is so soothing and calming to my eyes. ^_^

The ingredients are free from alcohol and mineral oil, great for my skin because I can't tolerate both stuff and I'll usually end up with break outs and redness on my skin. Here are some of the beneficial ingredients that are quite high up on the list, indicating that there is a large amount of said ingredient in the cream:
1. Glycerin - one of the most basic moisturizers that draws moisture from the environment
2. Trehalose - a sugar based ingredient that retains moisture
3. Camellia Sinensis Leaf Extract - tea is always good for the skin, right?
4. Dimethicone - helps to lock in the moisture

The cream is slightly blue tinted, for the purpose of matching the scheme, probably. Just some of the things that I don't understand from beauty brands. It's not like the blue tint will help in treating my redness somehow, lol. *mini rant*

I haven't finished the miniature version, so I haven't opened the full size version, just in case you're wondering.

Okay, I have oily skin and this may not be the right purchase at first glance, right? Wrong. My oily skin loves this sleeping pack like girls love K-pop my dog loves its chew toy. This is the only one sleeping pack that doesn't make my face greasy in the morning. And that is beyond amazing.

My face feels like a million dollars mochi in the morning because it is soft, plump, and 'chewy'. Well, I didn't try to chew it, but you know, it's bouncy, yes that's the word I'm looking for, lol. I was gonna say 'toeng-toeng', but then only my Indonesian readers will understand it. :)

To sum up, I like that:
- it doesn't feel heavy on my face.
- the cream sinks in fast and effortlessly.
- it has a subtle scent that relaxes me.
- it makes my face less oily than usual.
- it doesn't leave a greasy film on my face the morning after.
- it gives moisture without a greasy or sticky feel afterwards.

However, I don't like that:
- it is tinted blue.
- it is packaged in a jar.

Have you tried this sleeping pack that everyone swear by? Let me know in the comments what your thoughts are on it, until then, I'll see you later~ ^_^
