V10 Plus Vitamin C Serum Review

Wednesday, October 30, 2013

"Disclosure: This product was sent to me for review purposes in exchange for my honest opinion after trying it out." Complete disclosure here

Hello, lovelies~ As I have mentioned on my blog posts more than once, I have an oily, acne prone, sensitive skin with loads of acne scars on my cheeks. Therefore, I am always in search for products that can help keep my acne away from my face and lighten my acne scars.

Enter V10 Plus serums that can be customized for not one, not two, but ten skin problems starting from acne, dull skin, saggy skin, etc. These dermatologist tested serums are made in Japan and we all know how Japan is so ahead of beauty technology. Plus, they have uber soft and smooth skin, unlike mine T^T.

Anyway, I was given an opportunity to try out the V10 Plus Vitamin C serum from Kawaii Beauty Japan for review, so here is what I think of it after a month of usage.

It is a line targeted for teens that currently deals with acne or blemishes because it claims to reduce the appearance of acne. I bought the concealer a while ago at Watson's Kelapa Gading just out of curiousity. Here is what I think of it.

Mizzu Eyeliner Pen Perfect Wear Review

Monday, October 21, 2013

"Disclosure: This product was sent to me for review purposes in exchange for my honest opinion after trying it out. " Complete disclosure here
Hello, lovelies~ Any of you is a big fan of eyeliners? It can surely be intimidating for those who are new to makeup since it involves lining the eyelid with a risk of untidy lines or even a poke in the eye. Well, that used to scare me a lot back when I first started with makeup.

I would always try and use a liquid liner whenever I wanted to make my eyes more intense. Plus, it does get boring using the same soft brown pencil liner sometimes. However, I had difficulties applying liquid liner until I discovered the pen/marker type liquid liners. Today, I want to review a new eyeliner pen from Mizzu I got from BeCuteYou (thank you!), which is a relatively new brand of eyeliner on the market.

Hello, lovelies~ I renewed my subscription to Lolabox a couple of weeks ago, because I was anticipating the sample of Vitamin Science. They showed a sneak peek of the logo of Vitamin Science and I subbed, hoping to get a feel of the products. Too bad they come in sachets, *sighs* Since I'm still not over the dissapointment, I'll just show you the pics, 'kay?

Maybelline The Rocket Mascara Review

Friday, October 18, 2013

"Disclosure: This product was sent to me for review purposes in exchange for my honest opinion after trying it out." Complete disclosure here

Hello, lovelies~ One of the few makeup items that can help me make my small, uneven, monolid eyes look more wide awake is mascara, aside from eyeliner, of course. I have short, sparse and straight eyelashes like most of my family members, lol. Mascara helps to keep the lashes curled, giving my eyes a fresh appearance.

In the past, I have tried many mascaras and their formulations, only to always come back to those with waterproof ones. I feel that it holds the curl better than non-waterproof formulations. Today, I want to review the latest mascara from Maybelline called The Rocket Volum'Express.

Dine With Me: Twelve Cupcakes

Wednesday, October 16, 2013

“Disclosure: I bought this product with my own money. I am neither affiliated with this company nor am I being paid to write this post. My opinions honest and my own.”  Complete disclosure here

Hello, lovelies~ I'm not usually a fan of cupcakes as I find them too sweet for my preference. Most of the cupcakes I've bought and tasted are local ones that uses (mostly) buttercream as their frosting. When I'm craving for cupcakes, I usually make one myself so I can have the cream cheese frosting on top.

However, with the trend of cupcakes hitting Jakarta hard a few months back, most of them starts using cream cheese as a frosting. One of them is called Twelve Cupcakes, which I tried a few weeks ago at Emporium Pluit Mall. It is located on the 4th floor, right next to Sour Sally, near the escalator that leads to the cinema. It's not that hard to find. They have a display case where all the pretty cupcakes are stored neatly in it.

Holika Holika Jewel Blusher Sweet Pink Review

Monday, October 14, 2013

Hello, lovelies~ I haven't gotten any blushers lately, so I bought one from Holika Holika because it was affordable. It was under Rp 60,000 and I thought that was a good price to pay for a Korean-brand blusher. After using it for a week or two, here is what I think of the blush.

DOAPJ Tips: Lip Tints

Friday, October 11, 2013

Hello, lovelies~ Ever since I found the existence of lip tints, I have been using it most of the time. However, most of you says it's drying, so I thought I'd share a few tips on how I usually apply lip tint and reduces the feeling of dryness on the lips. Keep in mind that these may or may not work for you as people have different lip conditions.

1. Prep 'dem lips!
Before applying any lip tints, I always make it a habit to exfoliate my lips, if there is any dryness visible. Usually it is signified by flaky and chapped appearance of the lips, making it look as dry as the Sahara desert. A simple sugar scrub like the one I posted here will suffice. If I'm too lazy to use a sugar scrub, I use a facial wipe to remove any of the unwanted flaky bits.

Sampled It!: JUARA Rice Facial Cleanser

Tuesday, October 08, 2013

“Disclosure: I bought this product with my own money. I am neither affiliated with this company nor am I being paid to write this post. My opinions honest and my own.” Complete disclosure here

Hello, lovelies~ As per the title of this post, you can probably already tell that this will involved samples. I thought it would be nice to share my thoughts on beauty samples, be it sachet samples or deluxe samples. These posts aims to determine whether the full size product is worth to be repurchased. I, for one, am not too keen on reviewing samples on my blog, but I have loads of them right now, so why not, right?

Right, let's start with the first one, JUARA skincare. This brand made me inquisitive since they claim to use all natural ingredients and is free from sulfates, phtalates and parabens. I got their Rice Cleanser from Lolabox July edition along with JUARA Sweet Black Tea Eye Creme and JUARA Sweet Black Tea and Rice Facial Moisturizer.

Makeup Challenge: #psychedelips with Endi

Tuesday, October 08, 2013

Hello, lovelies~ Lagi bosen ga tau mo ngapain? Bolak balik fesbuk ama twitter gegara lagi males ngerjain tugas? #akudoangkaliya

Hada Labo

Why I Prefer Lotions (Japanese Toner)

Friday, October 04, 2013

Hello, lovelies~ I am not the biggest fan of toners because I personally feel that they don't have much function as to wipe away the remaining dirt on my face (should they still be there). Most drugstore toners in Indonesia is loaded with alcohol, so I tend to stay away from them. However, I am in love with Japanese toners or better known as lotions.
Well, the left is from Korean, but you get the point ;D
The difference between regular toners (ones that are usually from the US) and Japanese toner (or lotion) lies in the consistency of the product. Regular toners or astringents (as they're known) have a runnier consistency that is similar to regular drinking water, whereas Japanese toners (lotions) have a slightly thicker consistency than regular toners. It may look like regular water, but when applied to the skin, it has a slightly sticky finish. Why on earth would I prefer Japanese toners, then? Here are the reasons why.

ES Makeup Remover

Hada Labo ES Makeup Remover Review

Wednesday, October 02, 2013

“Disclosure: I bought this product with my own money. I am neither affiliated with this company nor am I being paid to write this post. My opinions honest and my own.” Complete disclosure here

Hello, lovelies~ Hada Labo has been one of my favorite Japanese skincare brand because of the absence of alcohol, mineral oil, petrolatum and fragrance in their products. These ingredients are the most common ones that causes acne on my skin, so I've been a loyal customer of Hada Labo that lack all those ingredients.

They came out with their new skincare line for sensitive skin called ES and I got my hands on the makeup remover a while back. I purchased it in Guardian Singapore while I was looking for something to eat at 313. Yeah, right. Anyway, after using it for around three weeks, here is the review.
