Hello, lovelies~ Even though CC creams are selling off the shelves like hot cake these days, I still have a place in my heart for BB creams. Probably because most CC creams are either too light for me or it's those white colored creams that changes color. Today, I'll be sharing my thoughts about the Klairs BB cream I received from WISHTREND a few weeks ago.
The BB cream comes with a separate box that is inscribed with the information regarding the BB cream. What I find interesting from the box is the picture of the BB cream tube on it that is true to its size. Also, there is a message written on it that makes it cute as a packaging.
One of the information stated on the box is that the BB cream is free from alcohol and animal testing. Parabens are also absent in this BB cream, for those who are sensitive towards this ingredient.
Moving on to the ingredients of this BB cream, it relies on ethylhexyl methoxycinnamate to protect your skin from UVB rays. As for the UVA rays, this BB cream uses a combination of titanium dioxide and zinc oxide to reflect both UVA and UVB rays. It is true to its Silky finish because of the presence of cyclopentasiloxane and dimethicone. Niacinamide is present to help regenerate skin to its finest. The plant extracts and sodium hyaluronate helps to make the skin more supple than before with regular use.
The squeeze tube is similar to a tooth paste with a twist off black cap. Despite it looking simple, I think the simplicity works for me. The white tube laced with a black stripe in the middle looks professional. I prefer flip caps, but I think this look sports a more clean and simple theme.
For a reference, the tube isn't too large in width, but it is quite long. The height will make it a bit tricky in fitting it in small to medium sized makeup bags, but will not pose a problem when placed inside a large makeup bag.
The consistency of the BB cream is similar to a lotion, but slightly thicker. It's like when you place the BB cream on the back of your hand and flip it upside down, it won't fall. It has a slight floral scent that goes away once blended on to my face.
Blending the BB cream doesn't take too much hard work, but I do have to slightly work it in since it can be a little 'draggy' on my face at times. It only comes in one shade, which is a light beige with a slight pink undertone. It doesn't oxidize on my face, although I wish it would so it would match my skin tone, lol.
To show the coverage of the BB cream, I have a photo comparison of my left and right cheek, instead of the whole face because those are where my imperfections lie. It's better to see the coverage if it's applied on the blemishes, isn't it? As you can see from the photos below, it has a light to medium coverage on my blemishes, depending on the amount of layers I use. The BB cream gives a satin finish, making my face not look flat, but more like a healthy, skin like appearance, if used a layer.
As I was applying the BB cream on my cheeks and taking pictures, I noticed that my forehead is completely bare. I thought it would be a good photo for to compare how light the BB cream goes on my skin. It does look cakey and 'made up' if I use 2 layers of this BB cream. Oil control on my very oily skin lasted around 2-3 hours, depending on my activity that day. I would usually set it again with powder just to make sure it lasts a little longer.
To sum up, Klairs BB cream may be the one you're looking for if you have more of a normal to slightly oily skin type as it has an average oil control that is not too suitable for very oily skin types like mine. As for the light to medium coverage, it is able to conceal my acne and post acne marks, but not my sun spot. I've made a summary for those who are too lazy to read since this post is quite long. Enjoy~
Have you tried this BB cream from Klairs? If you have, let me know what your skin type is and how you like it, so it can be a reference to others. Just leave your comments down below and until then, I'll see you later~ ^_^
