Revlon Ultimate Suede Lipstick Review

Tuesday, May 14, 2013

Hello, lovelies~ This post was supposed to go up yesterday, but I was too sleepy from class that I forgot. It has been a while since I last sat in a class room listening to lectures and whatnot, so I gave in to fatigue, LOL. Anyway, that's just a little bit of life update from me, on to the review.

When I went to Singapore a few months ago, I bought the Revlon Ultimate Suede lipstick because the thought of not having to touch up and reapply my lipstick sounds like a dream of mine. So, I got one for me and for my mom. After a few weeks of trial, here is what I think of it.

The lipstick has a clear plastic tube that is almost similar to the Colorstay Revlon lip products, except the bottom half of this lipstick has a similar color to the product. The name of the shade is printed on a sticker placed at the bottom of the tube.

With a wide range of colors, there is bound to be a shade for everyone and every occasion, be it formal or casual. I went with a friendly, everyday color that isn't too bright or subtle, which is 025 Socialite.

The shade looks like a crimson dusty rose with hints of pink and peach, at least I see it that way. On my lips, it is one of the MLBB (My Lips But Better) color. It goes well with my complexion, making me look wide awake and fresh.

This lipstick doesn't have a matte finish when I first swipe it on my lips. It feels like an ordinary lipstick which is kinda moisturizing. However, after around 1-2 minutes, my lips start to feel VERY STICKY.

I was afraid that it was gonna stay that way, but after 2 more minutes, the stickiness starts to lessen compared to the previous minute. After that my lips starts to feel dry, like the moisture has disappeared in an instant, but the stickiness is still kinda there.

It bothers me at first, but then I applied a thin layer of lip balm on top and that fixes the dryness. The lipstick application kinda reminds me a bit of YSL Glossy Stain, but this is stickier.

I like the longevity of this lipstick once I applied it because it lasted nearly 6 hours on my lips, even after eating and drinking! Also, it doesn't transfer to your mugs, cups, straws or clothes when it has already set. It doesn't even transfer on the cheeks!

Overall, I enjoyed this lipstick, especially the fact that it lasted for quite some time on my lips. Usually other lipsticks would disappear after a glass of water, but this still holds like no other. However, there is that dryness problem I experienced that kinda bothers me at first because I hate the feeling of dry lips, makes me wanna lick them (don't do that).

Priced at around Rp 80,000 (estimate), I think I am going to repurchase this should I ran out of it. I don't think I'll be able to hit pan on this, though. Anyway, have you tried out the Revlon Ultimate Suede? Do you like it? Let me know in the comments below and until then, I'll see you later~

    1. Yeah, in the tube, I thought it was gonna be kinda like a peachy pink color, but when I use it on my lips, it looks kinda like a combination of a dusty rose with pink. My bad in the description ^_^;;
