DOAPJ DIY: Mix The Colors!

Saturday, May 25, 2013

Hello, lovelies~ Such a gloomy Saturday morning here in my area, how about yours? I hope the weather won't be too harsh that it'll cause flood. That would be really troublesome. ~_~ "

Anyway, I bought two shades of lipsticks the other day and when I got home to try them out, none suits my complexion. One is too dark and the other is just too bright. So, I thought I'd mix them up and show you how I do it.

All you need are the two shades of lipstick of your choice, a small pot and a spatula. In this case, I'm using a microwaveable jar, but if you don't have one, you can always use the water bath method.

The water bath method uses a saucepan filled with water and a small bowl placed inside that saucepan. The heat of the water will melt your product. You can click here to find out more about the water bath (or sometimes called bain-marie) method.

After getting all your things ready, here are the simple steps of getting that desired lip color on your lips. I've summarized it in pictures so it'll be easier to follow.

I hope this post will enlighten you in mixing your own lipstick color and getting the shade that you wanted. As seen in the steps is quite easy, isn't it? I know this isn't a new method, but I just love sharing things with you lovely people.

The question of the day is, " What colors do you prefer on your lips? Orange, red, pink, rose, etc?". Let me know in the comments below and until then, I'll see you later~

  1. I often end up inadvertently doing this because I put on lipstick, then forget I put it on and swipe on another kind 5 minutes later ^_^

The mixed color looks great on you!

    1. Ah! That actually sounds like a good idea on lazy days when I don't wanna mix things in a jar, hahaha ^_^
