DOAPJ DIY: Mix The Colors!

Hello, lovelies~ Such a gloomy Saturday morning here in my area, how about yours? I hope the weather won't be too harsh that it'll cause flood. That would be really troublesome. ~_~ "

Anyway, I bought two shades of lipsticks the other day and when I got home to try them out, none suits my complexion. One is too dark and the other is just too bright. So, I thought I'd mix them up and show you how I do it.

All you need are the two shades of lipstick of your choice, a small pot and a spatula. In this case, I'm using a microwaveable jar, but if you don't have one, you can always use the water bath method.

Just For Fun: BTI VS Lola (Content-wise)

I will be comparing the two beauty boxes that I'm subbed to, which are Beauty Treats Indonesia and Lolabox. The boxes that will be compared is the May box. This is just for fun and whatever keeps me from studying, I will do it, LOL.

Anyway, I am just going to evaluate from the price point and the items that we get along with which box won my heart this month. Hopefully, I can do this every month with my beauty box, hahaha.. ^_^

Review Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua Liquid Foundation

Hello, lovelies~ I wanted to share a review on my favorite high end foundation that I bought last July 2012. I know, I know, that was like a very long time ago to only have a review up just now in the new year. Also, I have been debating whether or not to post this because I heard rumors that they discontinued this product. I wouldn't want to post a review on something that is inaccessible to you, lovely people~

Well, my excuse would be that I lost the outer box when I reached Jakarta, so I have been delaying it ever since. Yes, I am that clumsy, losing things and whatnot. Anyhoo, let's just start the long awaited review!

Taman Sari Royal Heritage Spa Cocoa Body Scrub Review

"Disclosure: This product was given to me for review purposes in exchange for my honest opinion after trying it out. " Complete disclosure here

Hello, lovelies~ Every week (either on Saturday or Sunday), I like to treat myself to a "home spa". I pampered myself with facial masks and body scrubs. I have been using the Taman Sari Cocoa and Papaya body scrub for the past two weeks. There is another one called Murut, but I don't like the scent, so I didn't use it as often as the other two.

3 Simple Ways To Organize Your Makeup Bag

Hello, lovelies~ Most of the girls I know carry small makeup bags in order to touch up or to freshen up their appearance during the day. Their contents vary from concealer to lip products. I tend to keep my makeup bag simple as I rarely touch up my base makeup when I'm going to the mall. Here are a few tips on how to organize your makeup bag. This way, it will be efficient and minimize the product your carry.
Looks like your makeup bag?

Revlon Ultimate Suede Lipstick Review

Hello, lovelies~ This post was supposed to go up yesterday, but I was too sleepy from class that I forgot. It has been a while since I last sat in a class room listening to lectures and whatnot, so I gave in to fatigue, LOL. Anyway, that's just a little bit of life update from me, on to the review.

When I went to Singapore a few months ago, I bought the Revlon Ultimate Suede lipstick because the thought of not having to touch up and reapply my lipstick sounds like a dream of mine. So, I got one for me and for my mom. After a few weeks of trial, here is what I think of it.

DOAPJ DIY: Dry Shampoo For Dark Hair

Hello, lovelies~ I (may) have the oiliest scalp there is that I can't skip a day without them looking greasy. I've changed my shampoo to ones that are silicone-free, but my scalp still gets greasy easily. So, I accepted my fate that I do have an oily scalp. Wow, how many times have I typed greasy in this paragraph? Geez. Hahaha..

Anyway, I'm always looking for something that can make me wash my hair once every two days. You know, a product to keep my oily scalp controlled in-between my shampooing. There are dry shampoos, but if that runs out, I use baby powder to keep my scalp grease-free. However, I hate the white color on my black hair, making it look grey, hahaha.. So, I found a DIY to solve that white discoloration.

Introducing Cocoa Dry Shampoo targeted for those with dark hair! It's really easy to make with stuff you can find at home. Let's start by prepping our ingredients.

Viva Special Day Cream Review

Hello, lovelies~ Today, I wanted to review a local brand from Indonesia called Viva. I'm pretty sure my Indonesian readers are already familiar with this brand because it is easily available in most drugstores, supermarket and even mini markets. Also, it's really affordable for everyone! So, let's just start the review, shall we?

I bought the Viva Special Day Cream a little over two months ago when I was at Hypermart. It was just sitting on the shelf by itself, all alone without a friend, so I bought it. Hahahaha.. I.. don't even know why I feel that way.

The cream is packaged in plastic jar that is white on the bottom and light green on top. Like most jars, it has a twist off cap that is just fragile. I'll have to be extra careful not to drop this. On top of the cap is the brand's logo and on the bottom is the products description along with the ingredients list.

DOAPJ DIY: Turn DOVE Bar Soap To Liquid Hand Soap

Hello, lovelies~ A couple of weeks ago, I went to Lotte Kelapa Gading to do my weekly grocery shopping. As I pass by the soap and shampoo aisle, I saw a sale on the Dove bar soaps and grabbed it because I like the soothing milk scent.

The thing about bar soaps that I despise is the impractical storage as I have to place it on a soap holder and watch it disfigure itself as it 'wears' away day by day. Not to mention the aspect that in the hands of a clumsy person (points to self), bar soaps have a higher tendency to drop to the floor and leave a slippery film. So, I searched online for a way to turn bar soaps into liquid soap and found it.

Let's start with the ingredients and materials first. I didn't include it in this picture, but you will need a stove top, a saucepan and a spoon to stir the ingredients.
L-R: Empty container, Grater, Bar soap, Measuring cup (or use a glass) ^_^
Here are the steps to turn a bar soap into liquid soap, in photos. Please be careful in the kitchen while using the stove top, especially if you're not familiar with one. Get someone else to help you if this is too difficult or if you're too afraid to use the stove, okay? ^_^
This is the big DOVE bar soap. I think it was 90 g?

Add the soap shavings along with two cups of water into the saucepan

It should resemble hot milk

It's ready to use!
That is all there is to it. Now, let's try to wash Mr. G's hands with this since I'm too tired to get the tripod out. So, I asked him for assistance.

I hope this post is helpful to some of you who are slightly irritated by bar soaps and would like to turn them into liquid soap. What is your favorite bar soap? Leave a comment down below and until then, I'll see you later~

P.S: I have only tried it with DOVE bar soap since this is one of my favorite soaps. I've read that you need something else to make liquid hand soap from other bar soaps. Will surely update you on that later if I try it. ^_^

3 Reasons Why You Shouldn't Skip Sunscreen

Hello, lovelies~ Today, I'm going to write a brief post on sunscreen, my favorite skincare item. So, I hope you'll find this helpful and enjoy!

Daily sunscreen application is a must because..

The sun (its rays to be exact) is responsible for 80% of skin's aging as it destroys our collagen and elastin in the skin.
Stop smiling and destroying my collagen at the same time.

Even on cloudy days when the sun is not visible, its UVA rays are still able to go through clouds and penetrate our skin, causing further photoaging or photodamage. This means more wrinkles! *GASP*
I see you there, UVA rays.

When inside your house, UVA can still penetrate through the window and cause premature wrinkles on your skin. You really want that? Unless you have UV blocking windows or no windows at all, then you're safe, lol.
Unless you live in this type of house, then feel free to skip sunscreen. ^_^
So, there you go, no more excuses to skip your daily sunscreen, unless you want to get wrinkles at an early age or be a trend setter by rocking on wrinkly face on the catwalk. What are your favorite sunscreen products? Let me know in the comments and until then, I'll see you later~

Evian Face & Body Spray
I bought this when it was on sale a couple of months ago and I find it very refreshing on hot days when I feel sweaty. This helps to make me fresh again! Also, I use this after I washed my face and pat it dry with tissue paper, just to neutralize the effect of tap water.

I love this a lot that I bought the full size in the limited ob edition. Yeay! So glad that my skin type suits the fresh cleansing oil, thus I am Sakura Hime! Well, kinda. Just click here to read more info about it.
