The Body Shop Strawberry Body Butter Review

Tuesday, April 09, 2013

Hello, lovelies~ I have been liking strawberry scents lately, so everything I use has to have that scent. Weird, huh? FYI, I don't eat strawberries. I only like the scent of it, don't know why. It gives me an instant pick-me-up or mood booster whenever I sniffed anything strawberry scented.

Anyway, my dear friend gave me a body butter for a birthday present last February (thanks, dearie!) and I wanted to let you know how I feel about it.

Red plastic tub of cuteness

I always fall for cute or even borderline adorable packagings. Even though they don't have the cutest logo or designs, but if the shape is different than usual, I'd usually fall for it. Yeah.. That's just me~

Continuing on with the review, the body butter is packaged in a red plastic jar with a twist off lid. I got the 50 ml size, which is the smaller and more travel friendly size. I believe the larger size is 200ml. In my eyes, the 50 ml version is just cute! ^_^

Ingredients

Those who are allergic to silicones and their derivatives may want to be on the look out since it has Cyclopentasiloxane as the third ingredient. There is Fragrance present in the mixture, so keep that in mind to those having sensitive skin.
To moisturize the skin, this body butter uses Shea butter and Cocoa butter which is known world wide for their very moisturizing property.

Like being in a field of strawberries!

This has got to be one of my most favorite scents in a body butter. The strawberry scent is just the right combination of sweet and tangy when applied to my body. For me, it's the tangy scent that makes me love this body butter scent even more.

Shine bright like a~

Not like a diamond, obviously. My skin looks shiny and/or glowing every time I finished applying this body butter. I usually use this for my legs and arms, never my hands. Somehow, it feels a lot heavier (or slightly greasy) on my hands. Weird.

Anyhoo, it takes longer to sink into my skin compared to body lotions, of course. Say around a minute or two. After that, it gives needed moisture to the skin and manages to keep it there. I usually apply this on my arms since it is meant for normal skin. If I wanted to use it on my dry legs, I'll just double the amount I usually use on my arms.

Conclusion

Packaged in a 50 ml plastic tub, this body butter is not only great for travelling, but looks adorable on my night stand with its strawberry picture. With just Rp 69,000, my skin is moisturized and I smell like I had been on a trip to a strawberry field.

Even though it takes a while for the body butter to be absorbed into my skin, I love applying it as a mood booster whenever I'm down with the blues. What is your favorite body butter from The Body Shop?

    1. So far, mine smells just fine even after a few applications. What scent do you get it in?

    2. I've tried several of them (like moroccan rose, cherry, mango, etc). The very first application smells right (same scent as the trial the shop offer) , afterwards it smells weird and strange, but the texture remain the same. The one of butter that doesn't change its scent is Shea.

  2. Ooh, you gotta try The Face Shop's hand and body shiffon cream. It smells super fresh and lovely, exactly like real strawberries! Absorbs super fast as well, cute packaging, and cute bouncy texture. I bet you're gonna love ittt :D
