Review Etude House Sweet Recipe Choco Chip Cookie Pact

Hello, lovelies~ A few months ago, I bought a choco chip cookie pact from the Sweet Recipe collection by Etude House. Since I am a chocolate chip cookie fan, I picked this amongst many other items. This is the only one that caught my attention when I was browsing it online.

Oh, this may be a long post with lots of packaging pictures, so just a heads up! ^_^

Truth be told, I am eyeing the Baby Choux Base as well, although I haven't had any luck with Etude House bases.

Cutely designed packaging

The pact comes in a separate box that has a cartoon chocolate chip cookie printed on it. The cartoon cookie is so cute that I keep it near my laptop for everyday viewing, hahaha.. It has a complete description of the product on the sides of the box.

Talc and fragarance present

For those with sensitive skin, you may want to be careful and perform a patch test before. This pact still contains fragrance, which is known as a skin irritant to some people.

Cardboard packaging

Once I take it out of the box, the pact is round and made out of cardboard material. It is so cute! I love, love, love the packaging alone! Hats off to the one designing this collection!

The round, cardboard packaging pops up revealing a white sponge that is sitting on top of a plastic separator. I like that. It ensures the shape and appearance of the powder, so it's kept in its pretty state.

However, it doesn't have a mirror, so bringing this for touch ups may be a hassle since you'll have to do your makeup somewhere with a mirror.

Let's swatch this baby!

It literally took me 5 minutes to look at cute choco chips before swirling them with my finger, hahaha.. It's just too gorgeous to be swatched!! Okay, focus, Phanie.

The cookie pact definitely has a yellow undertone, almost golden, despite its bronze-looking 'chips. The 'chips' looks like there are shimmers, but once blended on the skin is not as visible.

Let's put it on~!

Now that you've seen the swatch on the back of my hand, it's time to see it on ma' nowhere-near-perfect-or-flawless face. As you can see, I have a few redness, especially on the edges of my nose, chin and cheeks.

Right after it was applied, the pact produces a satin finish that is in between matte and dewy. I notice the more I apply, the more glowy I look. If applied with the sponge, it can look too powdery, but with a brush, it is less powdery.

The pact has a sheer coverage on my face since it is only capable of setting my foundation/BB cream, without being able to conceal my imperfections. Here is a closer look on the coverage of the pact on top of sunscreen only.

Oil control

On my very oily skin, the pact can control the excess oil for around 1 to 2 hours, which isn't very good. Maybe it because of the satin finish as well. That's why I notice my face looking all shiny faster and whatnot. hahaha..

With its cute packaging that is sure to attract many packaging fanatic, it is one of the cutest makeup item that I now own. Yeah! I just wished that it comes in a puff instead of a sponge. A round, fluffy, white puff with a bow on top would be cute. Plus, the sponge just makes it hard to apply the powder.

I usually don't mind a pact with sheer coverage, but this one is just a miss for me. I don't mind the sheerness of the pact, but I don't quite like the satin finish. I prefer matte ones. However, the packaging is just too CUTE to pass up.

What do you think? Have you tried this one yet? Tell me in the comments below and until then, I'll see you later~
