My Current Favorite Method of Exfoliation

Tuesday, April 16, 2013

Hello, lovelies~ I wanted to share my experience using this method of exfoliation that I have been trying out for a month. I read about this before I even do it just to make sure that it would be fine. I'm sure you're all have heard about this method a few years back. It is face shaving.

Yep. You read right. I have been shaving my face for a month to see how well it helps my skin. Some of you may be surprised, but I have a high curiosity for things, so...

First, let me tell you why I even considered this as an exfoliating method. Earlier last month, my brother had a few acne on his face. The one with the yellow center part and all ready to be popped, LOL. I gave him a couple of medicine, but I notice that he never had an acne around his upper lip area and other areas that he shaved. So, I asked him whether or not this is true. He said that acne rarely shows up on those area where he shaved.

With that, my curiosity peaked and I started doing research on face shaving for women. Some of the sources say that it works as an exfoliator for the skin. The exfoliation part is achieved when the razor is moved across the skin, removing the dead skin cells, just like any other physical exfoliator does.

Another plus point of this method is the way my skin looks and feels afterwards. Not only does it look brighter, my skincare products sinks in more easily and quickly compared to when I haven't shaved. Also, I find applying foundation is just as easy now after shaving because it adheres a lot better on my skin. I love it!

I can't say much for thicker facial hair, though. My facial hair tends to be thin that it just look like fuzz. I do this once a week with my trusty (and pink!) razor right after face wash. I think I'll do an in-depth post on the steps and how-to later. For now, it's just kinda like an introduction post. ^_^
