Do-It-At-Home Foot Treatment

Friday, April 05, 2013

Hello, lovelies~ The weekend is upon us which means we get to spend two days at home lazily around the house. What are you doing this weekend? I'm just gonna watch some anime while eating chips. Super duper unhealthy. Hahaha..

Anyhoo, I have a few tips I want to share with you on keeping my feet healthy and pampered, even though it's only once a week or maybe less than that (I confess). I sometimes forget about the weekly treatment. So, let's get started!

Disclaimer: Lots of feet pictures ahead. If you're not into feet pictures, exit now. I won't hold it against you, but if you do, thank you, sirs and madams. ^_^

Before the treatment, I like to wash my feet with a gentle liquid soap that won't dry out my feet. I feel icky if start exfoliating on a dirty surface. It's just my personal preference.

So long, dry skin!

Exfoliating simply removes the unwanted and unattractive flaky skin. This will help increase the absorption of the moisturizer which is later applied to both feet.

Get in the tub

Soaking the feet in peppermint-scented water is just heaven on earth for my feet. It gives a cooling sensation and relaxes the mind at the same time.

Don't go anywhere, moisture!

Get it? It's moisture, not mister. *badum tsh*
*clears throat*
After patting it dry with a towel, I applied body butter because lotions isn't enough moisture for my feet. Body butter tends to have more humectant compared to lotions which makes it more moisturizing.

I like to wear socks right after I've applied a moisturizer on my feet because I find that the moisture won't have a chance to escape to the environment.

That is all I do for my feet right now. I'm thinking of applying Vitacid there, so it will have more collagen and elastin, but I'll think about it. Hahaha..

Do you have any foot treatment routine? Share it in the comments below, so others can know too! Until then, I'll see you later~

  3. I know of a very weird but effective treatment routine. I do it often and every time it leaves my feet velvety soft. First you have to apply a moisturuzer on the feet (the instructions recommend vaseline but I've tried it with a normal cocoa butter lotion and it was fine) and then you have to wrap the feet in food celophane (it's a plastic food wrapping you can but in grocery stores) and soak them in warm water for 15-20 mins. Afterwards you wipe the exceess lotion off and wear soaks. It really works! If you try it, let me know what you think!
