Hello, lovelies~ If you live in Jakarta, particularly near Pantai Indah Kapuk or Muara Karang, you would be very familiar with Hakata Ikkousha. For those who aren't familiar with it, it is a ramen restaurant. Since my love for noodles (and their kind) is never ending, we went there a few weekends ago.
The place is quite spacious for a ramen place, probably because they're that good. They have sofa options for those who want to lounge around after eating their bowl of ramen. I didn't snap pictures of the interior as I was fumbling over the menu and what to order.
Why fumble, Phanie? Have you never been to Ikkousha before?Yep. I have never been to Ikkousha before.There. I said it.Ya' happy?!^o^
Anyway, my brother (the regular) suggested the Special Light broth for me since I'm not such a big fan of pork-based ramen and there isn't any shoyu or shio broth. I prefer shoyu or shio based broth because it suits my palette better and it is way less richer compared to pork-based broth. My brother ordered the Special Light Tam Tam and Mr. G chose the usual Special broth.
Mine was the first one to reach the table. The ramen was cooked to my liking, which is a bit chewy. The broth is not too overwhelmingly rich, but it is still too rich for my personal preference. However, if you are a fan of pork-based broths, I have a feeling you may enjoy the ramen here. I forgot to take a picture of Mr. G's dish, but it looks quite similar to mine. ^_^;;
We ordered a few side dishes, namely Chicken Karaage and Yaki gyoza. I didn't really enjoy the gyoza because their bottoms are not that crispy. Their taste is good, though. As for the Chicken Karaage, I like this the most. It has a crunchy texture on the outside and a juicy, tender chicken meat that is slightly sweet and savory. Accompanied with the mayonaise, I can eat this with a bowl of rice, hahaha..
There's also the mini chasu don that we ordered just because we wanted to see how it tasted like. I think it's okay, nothing special.
Overall, I enjoyed the food, Chicken Karaage in particular, at Hakata Ikkousha. I can see why people line up all the time just to eat a bowl of ramen in this place. As for me, my search continues for the perfect shoyu ramen, hahaha..
What do you think of this place? Have you tried it or do you have any ramen favorites? Let me know in the comments below. I love to hear your suggestions! Until then, I'll see you later~ ^_^

Gue ga terlalu demen Hakata Ikkousha, the broth is too oily, jadi kenyangnya agak2 eneg... side dish nya enak sih, i love their pork cheeks, gyoza, dll. klo ramen gue prefer light broth kayak Santouka Hokkaido di PI... enakk!! cobain deh Phan... :)
ReplyDeleteWaaa, sama kita! Sukanya yang light gitu brothnya, shoyu is the best. Santouka emang enak yah, uda pernah nyobain sih.
