Too Cool For School BB Foundation Lunch Box Review

Hello, lovelies~ This BB cream should have been reviewed last December, but Phanie being Phanie, I forgot. So, I'll just post this right now because it is one of my favorite BB Cream last year.

Perfect travel companion

This BB cream came in a separate box along with a small card, kinda perfect to use for a bookmark. However, I lost both the box and card already since this has been in my possesion for a long time and forgot to review it.

The product came in a plastic bottle with a twist off cap, but the special thing about this is the presence of concealer, highlighter, and mirror inside the cap. Hence, the perfect travel companion because it's a 3-in-1 product!

Spatula: Yes or no?

Despite the amazing product design, the BB cream is dispensed using a spatula at the end, which I'm not too fond of. I'm still in favor of pump bottles, though.

Another note to consider is how hard it is going to be when you've reached the end and wanted to scrape every last bit of BB cream. I'll probably have to think of something when that happens.

Creamy lotion consistency

The consistency of the BB cream is in between a cream and a lotion. It looks as thick as a cream, but once blended it feels like a lotion.

Two shades to choose from

This BB cream line has two shades, which are the typical light and natural beige. However, the light beige shade is made for oily skin, whereas the natural beige is made for normal/dry skin.

I find this a bit ineffective, I mean, what if the people with oily skin has a darker skin tone or people with dry skin has a light skin tone? Thankfully, I am still able to use the natural beige shade despite it being made for normal/dry skin.

Lightweight suitable for everyday use

Right after dotting the BB cream evenly all over my face, I pat it gently with my fingertips. Sometimes, I use my flat top brush from Sigma, the F80, and stipple it all over my face.

The BB cream feels lightweight as if I don't have anything on my face. I like the way it reduces the redness on my face, even though it doesn't cover my sun spot. I use it on days when I don't want too much makeup on my face or just wanted to run a quick errand.

Oil control & longevity

I find that this BB cream doesn't have a good oil control, making my face slightly shiny two hours after application, if used alone. I usually set it with a powder and setting spray to keep the oil away from my face.

The picture below is right after using powder and setting spray. The forehead, cheeks, and nose starts to look a little shiny.

As with most BB creams, they don't stay on the face for too long like a foundation. I saw my cheeks getting red after 2-3 hours, probably because the oil is seeping through already.

Concealer & Highlighter?

I rarely use the concealer and highlighter because they are in a cream form, which tends to melt off my oily skin. I'll probably do a separate post on them later on.

With a price starting from Rp 220,000, it's actually worth the money since it is a 3-in-1 product with a BB cream, concealer and highlighter. The small mirror is handy for touch ups during the day. The down side is the bottle packaging since I will have to scrape every last bit of it out.

Also, the oil control isn't the best, but again, it is for normal/dry skin. Have you tried this BB cream yet? What do you think of it? Let me know by leaving a comment, until then, I'll see you later~

  1. too cool for school has yet been launched in our country but I know its launching soon...this brand is becoming really popular these day! ^_~

    1. I guess it's their quirky packaging that's making them well-known right now. I hope you can get them soon in your country! ^_^

  2. Nice review!!
Kpengen nyoba beli ini, abis baca lgsung boro2 kontak OSnya lol..

  3. It looks great, but I prefer bottles with pump >_<.

    Greetings from Shirayuki's Beauty.

  4. I didn't enjoy this product when I had combination skin, but I LOVE it now when my skin's so dry. You can layer it for more coverage, and the concealer is actually quite decent too. The thing to remember when using the concealer is that you have to use the BB cream on top of it to keep it from sinking into fine lines (I'm using it for my under eye area).

Another thing to note when using this BB cream is your routine before putting this on. It works best after oil-free moisturizer (I use Hada Labo's moisturizing night cream). On top of sunblock, which usually has some sort of oil in it, the BB cream sorts of break down and disappears after a few hours. My sunblock is L'Oreal UV Perfect in transparent.

All in all, this BB foundie is a wonderful product when you know how to apply it correctly. ^^ Hope this helps!

    1. Thanks for this lengthy explanation! I haven't tried it on my dry skin yet. ^_^
