Estee Lauder Double Wear Reshade Event

Monday, February 18, 2013

Hello, lovelies~ Last Friday, Estee Lauder had an event where their Double Wear foundation becomes the center of attention. Being a foundation junkie that I am (and always will be), I immediately RSVPed the event when I got the email invitation from them. Yeah, I can't say no to base makeup.

I arrived at the event on time and saw the stand in front of Metro Department Store decorated with the gold Estee Lauder color scheme. They added white sofas, which makes the atmosphere more refreshing and delightful. Probably because I love whites.

After a few pictures and trying out the foundation myself, the event started. Erfan, the Estee Lauder representative briefly explained about the Double Wear Foundation . Michael, the Estee Lauder makeup artist, did a demonstration on three models.

Using the I Match Shade, he chose both the undertone and intensity of the foundation before applying it to the models. I tried it before the event and found it very useful in picking out my foundation shade.

He explained about Estee Lauder's signature technique of applying foundation called the foundation flower. Basically, the foundation is applied from the center of the face (the middle of the flower) towards the outer part of the face (the flower petals) in a light motion.

This helps to give a natural finish and not look 'fake' or cakey since the foundation is applied in a small amount initially. Right after that, if you feel that you need more, you can always add up little by little. You can check out this video for more information.

The same thing goes for applying concealer under the eyes. Always start with a small amount of it, then layer more if needed.

The last step is called the powder roll on, instead of just swiping the brush all over the face. This roll on technique ensures that the foundation and concealer that has been applied before is set and won't move throughout the day.

Also, with powder roll on technique, it sets both foundation and concealer without wiping away the coverage that has been built. You can see the video below to understand more.

After the makeup demonstration from Michael, I am excited to try these techniques at home when I'm doing my makeup. I got to meet Hanna and Cilla, which I'm sure you're all familiar with already.

I received a goody bag with the foundation, powder and a bag of cookies, which I can't wait to try out and review, until then, I'll see you later~

Thank you for inviting me to the event, Estee Lauder Indonesia!

P.S: I'm sorry for some of the low quality of the pictures. I'm sad looking at them when I edited these pictures. My digital camera broke when I was in the middle of taking a picture. Something to do with the lens. I'll get that fixed asap, but for now, I think I'm gonna have to use my camera phone. T_T
