Maybelline New York Color Sensational Lipstick Review and Swatch

Hello, lovelies~ I remembered back in 2010 when I just graduated from university that I wanted these lipsticks so bad. I wanted to place an order online, but they were sold out, so I had forgotten about them.

It wasn't until a few weeks ago that I saw them at Guardian over at Emporium Pluit that I let out a little squeal at the sight of them. So, here you go, the very-long-awaited-review!

My In Flight Beauty Essentials

Hello, lovelies~ If you followed me on twitter or instagram, you may have known that I am currently in Singapore for holiday. Someone bought the tickets for our anniversary. Thanks, love. Anyway, I thought I'd share with you what I brought along with me to the plane cabin, beauty wise.

Tinted Lip Balm

Since the cabin can be quite drying, I tend to skip lipsticks because my lips are more to a drying side. I always have a tinted lipbalm with me on hand. I find Burt's Bees Tinted Lip Balm in Pink Blossom to be the perfect texture and shade for me.

Wet Wipes

Germs are everywhere. Yep. That pretty much explains it. I always have the Badtz Maru handy just in case I need to clean my hands and inject a dose of cuteness during the flight. LOL

Hand Cream

If I'm able to wash my hands with running water and a soap, I always have to apply hand cream to prevent them from drying out. Since my Too Cool For School hand cream is not travel friendly, I opted for L'Occitane's Rose 4 Reines. It makes my hand smells like a field of roses!

Brush or Comb

For me, it's both with this baby. Got this at a small store that I forgot the name. It has both comb and brush on each end. I call it the Bromb (Brush + Comb).

Concealer and/or highlighter

I tend not to wear foundation before flight because I usually sweat a lot during the check in process and whatnot. So, I just wear concealer on the problematic parts and touch up from there! YSL's Touche Eclat is always my number one pick for this.

Perfume Roll On

Since carrying sprays tend to be a hassle, I favor the roll on types. My favorite is one from L'Occitane in Rose 4 Reines.

What are your beauty essentials when you're travelling?

Estee Lauder Double Wear Reshade Event

Hello, lovelies~ Last Friday, Estee Lauder had an event where their Double Wear foundation becomes the center of attention. Being a foundation junkie that I am (and always will be), I immediately RSVPed the event when I got the email invitation from them. Yeah, I can't say no to base makeup.

Do The Harlem Shake!

Since it is going viral and I want to remember this, why not blog about it?

Do the Harlem Shake!

This is the first one that Mr. G showed to me. I laughed my ass off watching it. Right after this, a few other Harlem Shake videos starts to appear.

Another one of my favorite from National Geographic. Thumbs up to them for having tons of animal props and using it in the video!

A few others from my favorite Youtuber, Freddie W and Pewdiepie!

So, wanna do the Harlem Shake now? ^_^

Too Cool For School BB Foundation Lunch Box Review

Hello, lovelies~ This BB cream should have been reviewed last December, but Phanie being Phanie, I forgot. So, I'll just post this right now because it is one of my favorite BB Cream last year.

My First Birthday Wishlist

Hello, lovelies~ I rarely (read: never) make any birthday wishlist in my life. However, there is always a start to everything, so this year, I'm gonna make one. Yeah! I thought it would be a good idea since this will keep me en route in getting the things I want. Just to make sure that I won't stray and buy more unimportant things.

Well, let's just start listing the things that I want for my birthday~ Yeaaaay~ First one I want is a football jersey from Manchester City's goalkeeper, Joe Hart. I first noticed him during the Newcastle V City match and realized that he is too cute~!

It's like loving Del Piero and Cannavaro all over again, *sigh*. I already have lots of pictures of Hart on my phone, so a jersey will be just perfect. Well, having a picture together with him would be even more perfect, LOL.

The next item I have been wanting is the Game of Thrones Blu-Ray. If you followed me on instagram or Path, then you must've known already that I am pretty much in love with the series. I got Mr. G a keychain that has a Dothraki inscription "Shekh ma shieraki anni", which is what Daenerys called Drogo.

So, I do want to have a Blu-Ray box set of this series. Been wanting to buy it online, but was afraid that tax will be such a major problem. Urgh..

Next up is a device that helps to tone muscles of the face. I usually go to Natasha to do this electrical stimulating process, but wouldn't it be awesome to have one at home. So, I browsed the internet and found this device from Nu Face.

A handy, muscle toning device that can be used at home. It is an expensive device, but if I add the amount of money I have to spend every two weeks at Natasha, it's cheaper. I'm still saving up for this device, hopefully, I can have it at the end of the year. This can happen if I stop looking at lenses and other things

The next item is body lotion from L'Occitane that I bought last year and love it so much. It is the Almond Milk Concentrate. Mine is already finished since last October, but I am saving up to buy it again. It just moisturizes like a body butter, but doesn't feel greasy afterwards. I LOVE IT!

I know I'm not a professional photographer, I'm just an occasional photo hobbyist. Well, not really a hobbyist since I don't have tons of lenses. However, I really want a telephoto lens for my DSLR, so I have been eyeing the Sigma 18-200mm lens. Yeah, the price is quite expensive for me since I don't have money right now. T____T Oh, well..

The next beauty product I have in my wishlist is the box o' powder from Benefit called Dandelion. I know it's just a basic pink, but I want the box. ^_^
So far, those are the things that I have in my mind right now. Hopefully, I can get them this year. Thanks for reading and until then, I'll see you later~

Ikkudo Ichi: Worth The Hype?

Hello, lovelies~ Long time no restaurant review, right? Since Mr. G got home last December, we got to try a couple of new food joints around Jakarta. North Jakarta to be specific. Lately, everyone and their mother has been into the ramen-bandwagon. Lots of ramen restaurants are popping up everywhere and we decided to try Ikkudo Ichi that day.

Ikkudo Ichi first opened their restaurant at Pantai Indah Kapuk. We never went there since the queue is always long, but when we went to Gading Walk, we saw another Ikkudo Ichi outlet. So, without any chit chat, we went inside for a bowl of ramen.

A Surprise from My Konjac Sponge!

Hello, lovelies~ Do you remember the sponge that shook the beauty blogging world almost a year ago? If you said yes and guessed konjac sponges, give yourself a pat on the shoulder because you're right! I remember bringing it to Singkawang and washing my face with it for an entire week without any face wash. You can always read that post right here

Anyway, a couple of days ago, I was taken aback when I saw a brown envelope in front of my room when I got home. I didn't remember ordering anything, but when I took a closer look, it turned out to be from My Konjac.

Sunscreen or Sunblock?

Hello, lovelies~ Some of you may be wondering what the difference is between a sunscreen and a sunblock. This is just going to be a brief post explaining the sole difference between the two. All of the information is retrieved for this post will be listed at the end of the post. Enjoy reading~

Oh, for Indonesian language, click the link right here. I was in the mood to make two versions since it was a short post.

The term sunscreen and sunblock has been used interchangeably among the community. However, years ago, the FDA has already warned beauty companies to change the terms 'sunblock' and 'waterproof' since they are misleading for the consumer. Here is their quote on that subject.

"Manufacturers cannot make claims that sunscreens are “waterproof” or “sweatproof” or identify their products as “sunblocks.”   Also, sunscreens cannot claim protection immediately on application (for example, “instant protection”) or protection for more than two hours without reapplication, unless they submit data and get approval from FDA."

Hopefully, in 2013, most of the beauty companies have already have their newly tested and repackaged sunscreen. That way, we will always be informed of the contents and action of the sunscreen.

Here is a illustration on how the sunscreen packaging should look like. I'll discuss this in another post, I don't want this to be long.

So, remember, goodbye sunblock!

A Heavenly Ice Cream Getaway at Island Creamery

Hello, lovelies~ In case you didn't know me that well, I am a chocolate aficionado. My favorite ice cream flavor is (surprise, surprise) chocolate, especially if it is a hot fudge sundae. I can eat them all day!

A few weeks ago, as Mr. G and I strolled through Gading Walk, we saw a new ice cream place called Island Creamery. Since we were waiting for a movie to start, we decided to give it a try.

In or out?

There were indoors and outdoors seating available, just like most Gading Walk shops. We sat inside because there are sofas and air conditioners. That's just the perfect combination on a hot day!

I have been quite a loyal for a new patron, to be honest. I have visited this shop three times in two weeks, just to eat ice cream. Don't yell at me.
