Review SK-II Stem Power

Hello, lovelies~ SK-II has been one of the most talked about skincare with quite a hefty price tag if you are new to skincare. I was sent this a couple of weeks ago for review purposes and after three weeks of using it, it's time for a review. Let's open the red box and start the review!

The cream is packaged in a red twist off jar that is quite rounded at the bottom. I find the shape of the jar is kinda cute. However, I do have to say that I'm not a fan of jar or pot packagings. It irritates me that I have to scoop the product out when it can be placed in a squeeze tube or pump bottle. That's just my preference, though.

The texture looks thick, but once spread all over my face, it feels smooth and dries to a matte finish. I was skeptical on the finish at first because it looks really creamy, but I had my doubts erased. It took a little longer than other creams to sink into my face. I usually massage it gently in an outward motion.

The ingredients list are long. Like, so very long. So, I'm just going to provide you with a couple of the ingredients that I know off the top of my head.

One of the things I like from P&G is they always include Niacinamide in their products. Quite high on the list too! As with most SK-II products, Galactomyces Ferment Filtrate is almost always located in second position, so I know that it is there in product in a large amount, instead of being the second last ingredient on the list. It does contain dimethicone, so those who are sensitive towards it may want to be on the look out. It uses parabens for preservative and has colorants. I'm quite surprised that this doesn't contain any fragrance, so it may be suitable for people with sensitive skin.

Moving on to the claims of this cream, it says that it is able to make pores less visible in 1 day and improves firmness in 10 days. Within a day, I didn't see any changes on my pores since it still look big and noticeable. So, I gave it five days to redeem itself. However, the results are still the same and my pores are still the same in size.

Even though it did nothing for my pores, I do notice that my skin is firmer after two weeks. For me personally, this cream/moisturizer is too rich for my skin. I don't know if you noticed, but in the 'Day 5' pictures, there are red spots on my cheeks near my nose, which develops to acne a few days later.

I don't mind, though since I face this almost every time I use a new product for review purposes. See? The things I do for you guys, I wuv you~

I can see this being very advantageous for people with very dry to dry skin. It also works for people who has saggy skin, usually on the cheeks and neck area. I don't see this being my go to moisturizer, but if you are one of the people who has very dry to dry skin, you can definitely give this a try. I think it retails for Rp 1,500,000, I'm not sure. Don't cite me on that, I'll ask how much this is and update this later.

  1. The moisturizer itself is very creamy, and from the hand swatch i could concur already that its not going to suit people with oily skin, and u could see it yourself. It might be targeted to older generations in need of thicker, creamier creme de la creme. For the pores themselves, i think they are enlarged due to hefty sebum productions and thick cream like this wont do anything.

  2. ah we have the same problem, proud pores T.T
ce, udah pernah nyobain estee lauder yang idealist pore refinisher serum blm? katanya itu cukup oke buat ngecilin pori2. aku sendiri blm coba sih, tp tau depan mau beli itu kalo peach sake aku udah abis :)
