Swatch L'Oreal Color Riche Miss Candy Nail Polishes

Tuesday, November 27, 2012

Hello, lovelies~ I am nowhere near the definition of a nail junkie. Well, I used to be, but then I got bored, LOL. *true story* A few weeks ago, I received a package from L'Oreal (including a jar of candies) since they have their new (well, not so new now, Phanie) line called Miss Candy. I'm sure by now you are all already aware of this line, nonetheless, I'm going to swatch their nails polishes.

The nail polish comes in a small bottle with a gold twist off cap. They are kinda cute since it is smaller than most nail polish bottles. However, I do like this bottle because it is small and won't take up space in any makeup bag. Compared to OPI or China Glaze, these are small.

One thing that perks my interest immediately is the L'Oreal sticker on the gold cap. It would be much, much prettier if they were to engrave the brand on the cap as well. Maybe they have a good reason behind this, but I can't seem to find any good ones right now.

There is a number engraved on it, one is 305 (Dating Coral) and the other is 602 (Perle de Jade). About the engraving, I didn't find that to be a downfall or an issue with this product. I just wondered why they decided to engrave the number and not the label. Not a problem, though. ^_^

Moving on to the brush applicator, I like that it is wide for a drugstore product. I would usually find such brush applicators in high end brands. With this brush, I am able to paint my nails more neatly and precisely. I do notice that make less of a mess with this type of applicators.

The colors in this collection are mostly vibrant and colorful which will always remind me of candies and sweets and everything nice. When I swatched it on my nails, I find the colors are opaque with one coat. That's a good sign. I don't know if this is just me that's feeling this, but I feel that the texture is thicker than most nail polishes. I kinda noticed that it looks similar to a gel nail polish, but I may be wrong.

I used a glitter nail polish from China Glaze to make it more festive since the shade is called Party Hearty, but it turns out to be a mess. LOL, nvm.

I find that this nail polish lasted for a good 5 days on my nails because I do some of the housework and other things that involved my hands. So, maybe that's why it only lasted 5 days on me. What I meant by lasted is the edges started to chip, but the rest are still okay.

Overall, I enjoyed the colors of these nail polishes as they are vivid and very playful. I can't use this to work, but on days when I'm not working I would (sometimes) paint my nails the baby blue color. I, personally, won't repurchase this if this one ever runs out because I don't use nail polishes often. However, if you are into colorful nail polishes, maybe you can give this a try.
