Green Tea On The Face?

Hello, lovelies~ Green tea has always been my favorite drink since I started sipping it way back in 2006. I was feeling frustrated while I was in Melbourne and thought I needed a warm drink before bed. I brewed a glass of green tea, sipped it all and felt all better. I guess the warmth and soothing taste did calm my nerves down. Did you ever felt that way towards a warm beverage?

Dine With Me: Fancy Bubble Tea At Calais

Hello, lovelies~ Do you like bubble tea? The beverage with those tapioca pearls? Well, a new bubble tea store named Calais has just opened in Kelapa Gading Mall. Yesterday, I went there to run a few errands and dropped by to try out the drinks.

My Current Foundation Routine

Hello, lovelies~ Today, I wanted to share my foundation routine with you. This doesn't include the eye and lip makeup. Here are the products that I use. I tried to use makeup products that are available here in Indonesia, but I haven't found a great drugstore primer, so I used Benefit's. For the makeup application, you can see the video down below.

FOTD: Enchanted by Revlon

Hello, lovelies~ How are you guys doing? I hope you guys are doing great! Yesterday, I was getting ready to go have dinner and I suddenly have the urge to put on eyeshadow. I started to look through my makeup drawers and decided to use my Revlon Colorstay 16 Hour Eyeshadow. This is in the shade Enchanted, hence the title of the blog post.

Review: Ocean Potion Instant Dry Mist SPF 50+

Hello, lovelies~ Are you ready? It is important to always wear sunscreen, at least, 15 minutes before you go out of the house. I bet you're tired of these words that I repeated over and over and over and over again. It is important, though!! Very!! Having said that, however, I, too, sometimes forget to apply it all over my arms and legs. I never forget to apply it on my face, but arms and legs are just areas I forgot to apply. Especially with all the sticky and greasy sunscreen, I sometimes skip applying them. I know, guilty as charged, Your Honor. Even Mr. G applies his sunscreen religiously, how can I not?

Floral Passion

Hello, lovelies~ If you frequented my blog, you would've known that I am crazy in love with floral patterns. Today (or tonight), I wanted to show you my favorite floral top that I got from x to X Plus Size Clothing, a special store that is made for plus size women, like myself.  Oh, and for those uncomfortable with plus size women doing OOTD posts, you can just close the tab, I won't hold it against you ^_^. Without further ado, here it is. I just paired with black jeans, a flower ring and a bracelet that has a lovely story behind it.

The story behind the bracelet is that it was given to me by a new friend. She read my blog post about my OOTD where I wore a floral dress to a relative's wedding. She then texted me and said that shw would love to send me a bracelet, which she made herself. It was such an adorable bracelet with various rocks, two leaves and a girly pink rose as a center piece. I love, love, love, love it! Thank you so much!!

That said, I'm not a fashion blogger as seen from my usual/regular sense of fashion. I just like to wear clothes that I'm comfortable with. I hope you enjoyed this short OOTD post and I'll see you next time~

Review: belif Anti-Aging Herb Essence

Hello, lovelies~ I've told you about the new counter belif has in Plaza Senayan. I bought an essence and a BB cream from them to try out. I've bought this a while ago, but I want to make sure that I gave it enough time before I do a full review on them. To start, I'm going to review the essence.

The product came in a milky white bottle with a twist off black cap that kinda looks like a gentleman's hat. You know, the one they took off in front of the ladies. Well, you know what I'm talking about. Hopefully. In case you don't get my ramblings, here is how the hat looks like.

There is two layers to this product, kinda like the dual phase makeup remover that you need to shake before each use. The product itself is a watery-like texture that is white colored, kinda like milk.

The front of the product states what active ingredients they have and whether or not they are free from certain problematic ingredients, such as mineral oil, alcohol, colorants, fragrance, etc.

Moving on to the scent, this essence has a strong herbal scent, kinda like leaves being mashed together to form a paste. Remember doing that when you're a child and pretending it's for an ailment to an uncurable disease?  Or is it just me? Anyway, I am quite annoyed at the scent as I continued using it.

The ingredients listed in them are a lot as you can see in the picture below. It contains all kinds of extracts that promises to slow down the aging process and giving brighter complexion. It still has silicone derivatives, so those having sensitivity towards them please be aware.

I have been using this essence for a month, give or take. I use it the same way I use my Hada Labo lotion, patting it evenly all over my face. It has a dewy finish after it has all been absorbed, making my face feel slightly sticky. Sadly, I didn't feel any difference at all after a month of usage.  As for anti aging, I haven't been able to tell the difference of fine lines on my forehead. Thankfully, it didn't break me out. *phew*

Overall, I didn't really like this essence as the scent is too strong for my nose and it didn't really do anything for my skin. The price is steep, retailing at Rp 349,000 for a 75 ml product. You can buy this at belif counter that are usually found at SOGO department stores.  I'd say this essence would suit those with normal to dry skin as it is quite moisturizing. However, for those with oilier skin type, please be well aware of this essence as it may give an oilier look because of the moisturizing factor. As for me, this is a product that I won't be missing in my life.

Dine With Me: The Twig Cafe at PIK

Hello, lovelies~ Last Thursday, I went to a cafe at Pantai Indah Kapuk, located at North Jakarta, called The Twig Cafe. The logo itself is very simple and adorable, with a small bird sitting on the 'T' part of the logo, as if sitting on a twig. Pretty neat, huh?

Karl Lagerfeld x shu uemura Launch Event

Hello, lovelies~ Yesterday, I attended an event from shu uemura for their collaboration with Karl Lagerfeld. It was for this coming Christmas and they sure know how to make holidays special. I can't wait for the products to get here in Indonesia. They say that they'll be here on November, so that's only a couple months away, yeay~!

I recorded the event (well, some bits and bobs) and mashed them together in one video, so you can see how they have prepared for this so well. They even dress up the models as Mon Shu girls, with the signature bob cut and blunt bangs, which is totally cute! You can check out the video on my Youtube or by clicking down below.

The Lagerfeld x Uemura collab will include quite a few makeup items, each with the picture of Mon Shu girl herself. Isn't that just cute?! I think what made me like her is because of her quirky yet adorable hair, with a black necktie against a white collared shirt. That is so lovable! Here are the items that will be launched this November in Jakarta.

Pretty rhinestones on each lash

The mirror has the shape of the Mon Shu girl! Too cute....

The red and grey box on the upper and lower right hand corner is the eyeshadow palette

Even the eyelash curler has a Mon Shu strap. ^_____^
If you want to know more about the Mon Shu girl story, I've already blogged about it a few months ago. You can check out the blog post here. Here is the full products along with price tag, since I am one that has a lousy memory.

After the makeup demo, as shown in the video, I took more pictures with the Mon Shu girls because they look cute with their hair style. I also took a picture with the makeup artist from shu uemura Philippines, Mr. John Pagaduan, along with other bloggers. I can't wait for the collection to arrive here in November!

Endi, Yesy and I ^_^
The Mon Shu Girls and I. Aren't they just adorable?
As always, shu was very generous to give a thoughtful goodie bag, so thank you so much! I had polaroids with Endi as well.

Until then, I'll see you later, lovelies~ I was thinking of making a video with Mr.G, but that was just a thought. ^_^

Review: Maybelline Clear Smooth BB White SPF 50/ PA +++

Hello, lovelies~ When I was in Singapore, I bought this BB cream even though I rarely use any BB cream lately. I just can't help myself to buying BB creams, I guess. Plus, I wanted to see the difference compared with the one we have in Jakarta.

The packaging is nearly similar to the ones we have in Jakarta. It is in a squeeze tube, but with a light blue color scheme. The size of the squeeze tube is the same as well. I always like the size of Maybelline's BB creams. They're easy to travel with because they don't take up much space in my makeup bag.

The BB cream utilizes chemical sunscreen of ethylhexyl methoxycinnamate, which protects the skin against UVA and UVB rays of the sun. It contains Glycerin, which is a humectant, that will draw moisture from the environment. Titanium dioxide is also included in this BB cream. Dimethicone is present to make it easy to blend, probably. This BB cream uses parabens for the preservatives, along with phenoxyethanol.

The texture of this BB cream is slightly thick, instead of a runny liquid. I got the shade 02 Natural because the other shade is way too light for me. I'm not that comfortable if I use that light of a foundation or base, so I opted for the second shade. It doesn't emit funny or weird scents, it's just typical creamy, subtle chemical scent.

Applying this BB cream on my face is one of the easiest thing aside from breathing. There aren't any difficulties in blending the BB cream evenly all over my face. I just dot a sheer small circle on my forehead, cheeks, nose and chin before blending them all over my face.
5 dots on my face
Here I am looking like I just cried (I didn't, I promise!)
All blended and redness goes away

It has an in between sheer and medium coverage, unable to cover my sun spot, but able to neutralize and minimize redness on my cheeks particularly. It slightly covers my blemishes or acne scars, but not up to a point that it is flawless-looking. As seen in the 'After' picture, it has a semi-matte (satin) finish, which is in between dewy and matte.

The longevity of this BB cream is said to hold up to 12 hours, which means that it will stay for 12 hours on said face. It stayed on for around 3 hours before it started to disappear on my face. To be fair, I was going for an outdoor event that day and the sun was blazing hot, so I do sweat. A lot. Maybe that's what caused it to 'melt' rather quickly. If I were to stay at the office (indoors), this would usually last for around 5 hours on my face. It didn't have a good oil control on my face, it was only around 2 hours until I looked greasy.

Overall, I liked this BB cream for everyday use because it felt lightweight on my face and doesn't look cakey. IT also has SPF 50/PA+++, so it is sufficient for everyday use in terms of sunscreen. However, it does have a poor oil control, so I have to blot every hour or so to prevent looking shiny. Personally, I would repurchase this if I were to run out of it.

P.S: I have a new video up on my youtube channel. It may not be related to beauty, but you're free to laugh at me singing and playing the guitar. Comments are always welcome, be it good or bad~! See you next time. ^_^

Review: L'Occitane Angelica Face Mist

Hello, lovelies~ I work in an environment where it is mainly air conditioned from room to room. During those times, I often felt my skin is dry and needed a boost. To just refresh my face (and mind), I usually carry face mists everywhere with me. Today, I want to review the one from L'Occitane.

Right off the bat, the size of the face mist is quite big, unlike the other face mists that has two or three sizes. Maybe because of its limited edition property, they only make it in one size. Still, it's not a good enough reason to produce only one size! Like, dude, it takes up much space in my bag, come on~! I kid, I kid, I'm not that enraged by the size, chillax, people.

Compared to other face mists I've tried, this one contains Angelica extracts that helps in rehydrating the face and retaining the moisture within. It also contains Aloe Vera extracts, so it helps to soothe and calm dry skin. It contains perfume or fragrance, so sensitive skin types, please be on the look out.

Here is the complete list of ingredients: Aqua/Water, Glycerin, Angelica Archangelica Root Extract, Angelica Archangelica Root Oil, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice, Amyris Balsamifera Bark Oil, Mentha Piperita (Peppermint) Oil, Parfum/Fragrance, PPG-26-Buteth-26, PEG-40 Hydrogenated Castor Oil, Nitrogen, Sodium Benzoate, Potassium Sorbate, Limonene.

The Angelica Face Mist is an aerosol-type spray, if that makes any sense as to what I'm trying to explain. You know, the one you have to shake the can before using it. It is similar to Evian's face mist, if you know what I'm talking about.

As for the mist that it emits, it has a large area of effect within one spray. It produces a fine mist that covers my whole face after one spray. On my combination skin type, it feels refreshing and a little sticky, just in the slightest. After a few seconds, the stickiness goes away, leaving my face feeling refreshed and moisturized.

In the end, I think this would be suitable for those having dry skin problems and wanted more in their face mists other than just mineralized water. Since it contains Aloe extracts and Angelica extracts, it has a subtle grassy scent and is able to give back a little moisturize to your skin if you don't have the time to apply any moisturizer. However, it is a limited item, so they'll only be in stores for a brief amount of time. I don't think it's in stores any more, even. ^_^;;

Review: Dove Indulgent Nourishment Body Lotion with Shea Butter

Hello, lovelies~ I bet you're already familiar with Dove's newest body lotion that was already out in the supermarket about a month or two ago. This is a very late review on the body lotion, but I had to make sure that I use it long enough to give my opinion on it. I place the body lotion in my bathroom on top of my toilet tank, so I will always remember to use it right after my shower. Hence, the weird background pink and red ceramic, instead of my regular white background.

The body lotion comes in two sizes, I bought the small size (or regular sized). It is packaged in a white, tall bottle equipped with a flip cap on top. The bottle feels sturdy and doesn't break easily when it falls to the ground. That is quite important for a klutz like me.

The lotion is white with a lovely faux (synthetic) chocolate scent, that is surprisingly pleasant to my olfactory senses. It isn't as strong as Vaseline's Chocolate body lotion, but the scent is still there. It could probably be the Shea Butter scent, but to me, it smells like chocolate candy.

The body lotion uses petrolatum and shea butter as the main ingredients for the moisturizer. It also has silicone derivatives, so it doesn't feel sticky or greasy afterwards. It has perfume and parabens, but nothing to fear of, I'd say.

The white lotion is easily spread all over my arms and legs. It just sinks right in after a good minute, leaving my skin soft, smooth and moisturized. Although the lotion feels light on my skin, its ability to moisturize my skin is beyond words.

Half blended
I'm blown away by its moisturizing ability since it looks like a lotion, but feels like I'm applying body butter on my arms and legs. That being said, I feel that the lotion is able to retain the moisturize within my skin for a good 6 hours or even more, I didn't really pay much attention.

I think it was priced under Rp 50,000 for the 250ml size, I forgot the exact price. However, I enjoyed applying this on my arms and legs because it didn't feel greasy afterwards. Another product from Dove that deserves my heart, good job!
