Review: Etude House Skin Malgem Essential

Friday, August 10, 2012

Hello, lovelies~ It's been a while since I did a review on toners. My last favorite toner is from TheFaceShop's Arsainte Eco Therapy collection. Well, today, I am going to review a toner from Etude House called Skin Malgeum.

The product is packaged in a plastic bottle with a white, twist off cap. I was a bit disappointed because I thought I'd be getting a glass bottle, lol. That's really not something to get upset about, really, Phanie.

The product has two components that needs to be shaken before each use. You can see the yellow oil-like consistency on top and the watery, transparent liquid on the bottom. Once it is shaken, the toner turns into a light yellow color, ready to be poured onto a cotton pad. I have to pour it fast because it gets separated into two liquids in a short period of time. The tip of the bottle is reasonably sized, so the amount of toner dispensed is just right.

This toner is targeted for people with combination skin type, although I must say that this works well on moisturizing my dry, flaky skin last week while I was on retinoic acid. I'm talking dry as in visible skin peeling off of my face that I almost look like a snake changing its skin. I find that a combination of gentle exfoliation and this toner helps my face looks well-hydrated and normal. At the same time, I can still use the retinoic acid without looking like I have dandruff all over my face, lol.

Right after I use the toner, I felt that my face felt moisturized, without the dry, flaky skin. However, I do notice that it may be slightly too moisturizing for my T zone because my forehead get a little shiny after applying this toner.

Overall, this may be one of the toners that I would repurchase when I am using retionic acid. This really helps to moisturize my dry skin whilst still benefiting from retinoic acid. It works almost similarly to the toner from TFS, but this is a cheaper option. So, have you tried any of the Skin Malgem toner from Etude House? Share your experience in the comment box.

P.S: Since I think I threw the box away, I will be updating the ingredients later.

    1. I think it'll be too oily if ypu don't have dry, flaky skin because it is too greasy for my T zone. I used it only on my U zone, where I'm the most dry. However, so far, I haven't had any breakouts. ∩__∩

  6. Hi! I'm using the deep moist one. I love it soooo much! I have combination/sensitive skin, and I have dry patches no more! BUT it is a little too moist for my forehead (because it is oily), but until now it's ok using it =D . It didn't give me breakouts
