Review: L'Occitane Desert Rose Hand Cream

Wednesday, July 18, 2012

Hello, lovelies~ I have been into L'Occitane products lately. Probably because I just realized that they didn't use parabens in most of their products. I have been looking for paraben free products, but never noticed L'Occitane. Anyway, this is the hand cream that I have been loving lately.

The packaging of their hand creams are in a squeeze tube that has a faucet like cap that twists open. This may look cute and minimalist, but it is a huge downfall for me. I keep dropping the cap every time I tried to close it, probably that's just the clumsiness I have. On the tube, the label is designed to look simple and informative at the same time.

The texture of the hand cream is a white, slightly thick cream that smells like roses. The smell of roses isn't layered like the Rose 4 Reines, but it still has a nice fragrance nonetheless. I usually reapplied it every time I finished washing my hands to keep it moisturized and fragrant. The scent won't last me the whole day since I wash my hands quite frequently, especially if I'm at work. If I didn't wash my hands often, I find that the hand cream is able to retain the moisture for 3 hours-ish on my hands.

I usually dispense the product on my fingertip and rubbed it all over my hands, not forgetting to massage it into my cuticles. I find that this hand cream is able to slightly keep my cuticles moisturized, it's not the best, but it does the job. This hand cream takes longer to be fully absorbed, around 1-2 minutes, provided that I keep massaging them into my hands. After it has all absorbed, it doesn't feel sticky, but it does feel a bit greasy, just the slightest. It doesn't bother me that much, though.

Overall, I like the scent of this hand cream the most out of all the hand creams that I've tried. If the packaging is a flip cap, that would be a life saver since I can't deal with my clumsiness of dropping the cap almost every time. The rose scent is just soothing and calming to my nerves. It may look like it only lasted for a short period of time, but I do have dry hands, mind you. It does take longer than most hand creams to be absorbed, so if you can't wait for 1-2 minutes, then you may as well skip this hand cream. I, however, chose to stay with the hand cream just because of the lovely, sweet rose scent. <3

P.S: I'm using stock photos from the internet now because I left my external HD at home. I know, I know. No excuses, Phanie. =/

  1. I love L'Occitane's desert rose's scent! Very sweet and girly, and in the same time fresh as fruity things. :D LOL. The ultra rich body cream is great too (I got the sample once), but it contains parabens. :(

Anyway, thank you for the review! ;)
