I've talked about it in details HERE. Bottom line is it's absorbed rapidly and doesn't have a greasy finish after using it.
Since my skin decided to behave badly at the beginning of the month and broke out everywhere, I skipped using retinoic acid for a while, turning my combination skin type into my old, usual oily skin type. In order to prevent excess oil piling on my face, I use this face wash instead of my Hada Labo.
To encourage the keratinization process to occur normally, I tend to exfoliate everyday with a gentle method. My Konjac Sponge is perfect for days when I want a soft and gentle exfoliation process.
Without parabens, this lip balm is able to moisturize my lips and relieve my chapped, cracked lips in an instant. It doesn't feel like it coats my lips, but it just sinks in my moisturize it.
I love the practicality of this powder when I'm in a rush. I just take a powder brush, sweep on the powder foundation and lightly dust it evenly all over my face. I noticed that it eves out my skintone, minimizing the redness.
I've been into a pinky-peach lip color lately, just because it still looks natural, yet it has a slight brightening effect for my face. I love this lipstick because of its moisturizing property and pigmented colors.
That is all of my July faves and I hope it helps you in picking out certain products from the drugstore or even the department store. Before you go, I have a little poll that I need you to fill down below. Thanks, as always, for reading my blog! ^_^
Hello, lovelies~ Lately, I have been mentally preoccupied with certain things that I can’t even come up with beauty tips (which I love writing about). So, while I’m waiting for my brain to clear the clutter, let’s just start with product reviews. Today, I wanted to review a product from one of my favorite brand that I liked recently, which is L’Occitane Lip Balm.
P.S: I'm sorry for not updating my blog frequently lately. I've been having more frequent vertigo episodes.
d) I left my novel at my workplace because I was already drowsy from the meds. Darn it!
Skin Aqua UV Mild Milk SPF 25/PA++ (Rp 47,000)*
Another Rohto product. No suprise there. This is by far the best sunscreen that I've tried so far. It is light, moisturizing, and has both UVA and UVB protection. It's fragrant free and colorant free as well.
I underestimated this eyeliner because it is in a pencil form and they tend to smudge on my eyes.
This. Does. Not. Do. That.
This eyeliner stayed on my eyelids without any base underneath for 4 hours. Granted, it is a bit 'draggy' and needed heat in order to glide smoothly, but as long as they stay there, that's all I need.
Revlon Colorstay Combination/Oily Liquid Foundation (Rp 110,000- Rp 125,000)*
This is (to this day) my HG liquid foundation from the drugstore. It feels light on my face with a natural finish and perfect for photos because of the low SPF.
Marcks Venus Loose Powder (Rp 20,000)*
In an ideal world, I should avoid talc in most of my loose powders, but even high end brands slip talc in their product, so what's the point? *shrugs* Anyway, I like this loose powder because of it does its job in setting my foundation (if I needed setting). Plus, it's cheap and hasn't caused any unpleasant skin reaction thus far.
Maybelline The Falsies (Rp 80,000)*
If there's one company that makes the best mascara, it has to be Maybelline. This one is so far my favorite since it is easy to apply without any clumps even if I applied them in a hurry. It lasts long around 4 hours, more or less.
Biore Cleansing Oil Sheet (Rp 22,000)*
Caring Colors Happy Lip Color (Rp 30,000)*
One of the lipsticks I own that doesn't dry out my lips, even if I forgot to apply lip balm underneath. With a wide selection of colors, I like the options of being able to choose a different lip color for every ocassion. Plus, it's a local brand, as the saying goes "Cintailah produk-produk Indonesia~".
Revlon Colorstay Creme Gel Eyeliner (Rp 75,000)*
This is the only gel eyeliner that stays put on my oily eyelids. I don't like the overly shimmer in the product, but again, as long as it stays on my lids, it's good.
SILKYGIRL BB Cream (Rp 55,000-ish)*
Compared to Maybelline's BB Cream, I prefer this one from the drugstore. It reduces the redness and evens out my skin tone, but as with most BB creams, the coverage is not that great. It comes in two shades
Well, those are the things from the drugstore that I include in my top ten list.
Hello, lovelies~ Today, I am feeling a little down, but as always, that never stopped me from posting before. So, if you guys follow me on twitter (@phanie14), you'll probably know that I went to Singapore to attend my brother's graduation ceremony. I bought a couple of things while I was there since I went to Sephora, Daiso, LUSH, etc. I'll start with a body care product that I have been wanting to try out. It's from Soap and Glory.
Overall, I really like this hand cream mainly due to its fast absorption time and the non-greasy and non-sticky finish. I can immediately use a pen without having oils all over it. However, as with all product, there is bound to be a downfall. This product still uses parabens as the preservatives. Also, it is not available in my country, so I have to order it online. The scent will start to fade within the first hour of using. So, is it worth shelling out SGD $7 out of my wallet? Yep, thank God for its rapid absorption and greaseless finish.

The texture of the hand cream is a white, slightly thick cream that smells like roses. The smell of roses isn't layered like the Rose 4 Reines, but it still has a nice fragrance nonetheless. I usually reapplied it every time I finished washing my hands to keep it moisturized and fragrant. The scent won't last me the whole day since I wash my hands quite frequently, especially if I'm at work. If I didn't wash my hands often, I find that the hand cream is able to retain the moisture for 3 hours-ish on my hands.
I usually dispense the product on my fingertip and rubbed it all over my hands, not forgetting to massage it into my cuticles. I find that this hand cream is able to slightly keep my cuticles moisturized, it's not the best, but it does the job. This hand cream takes longer to be fully absorbed, around 1-2 minutes, provided that I keep massaging them into my hands. After it has all absorbed, it doesn't feel sticky, but it does feel a bit greasy, just the slightest. It doesn't bother me that much, though.
Overall, I like the scent of this hand cream the most out of all the hand creams that I've tried. If the packaging is a flip cap, that would be a life saver since I can't deal with my clumsiness of dropping the cap almost every time. The rose scent is just soothing and calming to my nerves. It may look like it only lasted for a short period of time, but I do have dry hands, mind you. It does take longer than most hand creams to be absorbed, so if you can't wait for 1-2 minutes, then you may as well skip this hand cream. I, however, chose to stay with the hand cream just because of the lovely, sweet rose scent. <3
P.S: I'm using stock photos from the internet now because I left my external HD at home. I know, I know. No excuses, Phanie. =/
Hello, lovelies~ I bought this sunscreen a few weeks ago when I went for dinner with my bestie. I wanted to try out the BB cream, but they haven't stocked it yet. After making sure that the ingredients are a-okay, I bought it.
The type of sunscreen used in this product is a physical and chemical sunscreen, namely Zinc Oxide and Titanium Dioxide for the physical sunscreen, whereas the chemical suncreen is the Phenylbenzimidazole Sulfonic Acid. This suncreen has dimethicones and humectants (Butylene Glycol), along with a few plant extracts that promises to soothe your face whilst using it. I don't pay much attention to the plant extracts because I think they're bull to begin with.
This product has a herbal scent that finishes off with an earthy aroma. It's not the best of aromas, but I'll manage. It has a pale cream color, but it doesn't make my face all white and ghost-like. Blending the product can be a bit of a challenge given the slightly thick texture.
On my combination skin type, it kinda exaggerated the flaky skin around the edges of my mouth, but that's probably because I rubbed it too hard. Lately, I have been applying the sunscreen by patting it on my face, right after I've warmed the product in my hands. Despite the dimethicone content, this sunscreen is nowhere near silky when it comes to finishes. In other words, the sunscreen has a slightly sticky finish, but it didn't feel greasy. Does that make sense? Oh, well.
Would I say I love the sunscreen? No. Would I say I hate the sunscreen? Again, no. It's kinda in between love-hate, but hate is such a strong word. Gosh, I like the high SPF in this product, but I dislike (not hate) the sticky finish and the herbal-earthy scent. Priced at Rp 199,000 for a sunscreen, it is fairly priced. Thanks, Javier, for letting me know the sulfonic acid ingredient! ^_^
