Review : L'oreal Paris UV Perfect MAT SPF30/PA+++

Hi, everyone (particularly those sunscreen-junkies like yours truly)! Today's review is about a sunscreen from L'oreal Paris. This product was sent to me for review purposes by Magnifique. However, as always, I will be posting my honest opinion about this product. So, after a good week or two of using this, let's start the review!

L'oreal Paris UV Perfect MAT SPF30/PA+++

Oily prone skin? Everyday, skin is exposed to UV and pollution which are responsible for skin darkening, premature skin ageing, and sebum's over-production. UV worsens skin's oiliness, indeuces pimples and makes their marks darken.

Discover L'Oreal Paris' first UV protector tailor-made for oily skin :
A longlasting optimal protection in a new light mattifying texture, for fair and mat skin!

AGAINST OUTSIDE AGGRESIONS : Anti-UV protective shield with anti-pollution ingredients
- Mexoryl SX and XL [XL Block] provide optimal UVB and reinforced UVA protection. This immediate and longlasting protection shield prevents sun-induced brown spots, skin darkening and premature skin ageing.

-Enriched in Detoxyl to inhibit pollutants  fixation on the skin.

AGAINST INSIDE DAMAGES : Anti-Free radical barrier
A specific Anti-Oxidant Complex reinforces protection against free radicals and better shield cells, elastin and collagen fibers.

- New light mattifying texture for an immediate anti-shine effect.
- Freshness and mattness by preventing UV induced sebum over-production.

How I Use It

I squeeze a fingertip length and apply it evenly all over my face and neck.

What I Like About It
  • It's easily found in most drugstores and supermarkets in Jakarta
  • The size is small, making it a perfect fit in my makeup bag to carry on the go
  • It has a squeeze tube packaging with a small opening at the end, so it won't be messy
  • It has a sun protection against UVA (SPF30) and UVB (PA+++)
  • Since it is a chemical sunscreen, it doesn't leave a white cast after applying
  • The texture is lotion-like and lightweight
  • Blending is easier with chemical sunscreens, unlike physical ones
  • It doesn't have a sticky finish after application
  • The finish isn't super duper matte, but slightly satin (in between dewy and matte). I used this on my combination skin and left with a slightly flaky skin on the edges of my mouth, but a good oil control on my T zone
  • It didn't cause any bad skin reaction on my face (acne or redness)
What I Hate About It
  • The price is on the expensive side, retailing at Rp 94,500 for a 30 ml product
  • I wished it doesn't contain any fragrance, so it can cater towards more sensitive skin type
Overall, I think this is a good (not great) sunscreen from L'Oreal. Sure it's great for travelling, but the price is a bit high compared to other drugstore sunscreen. However, I like that this has photoaging protection of three pluses ( +++ ), which is rarely combined with an SPF 30 sunscreen. I would warn people with dry skin type not to use this because it can exaggerate your dry skin as this is catered more towards people with oily skin.

I would recommend this to :
  • Someone who has combination/oily skin type
  • Someone who likes travelling and spending time outdoors under the sun
