Review : Tony Moly Petite Bunny Gloss

I know I haven't been a fan of lip glosses since I went to uni, but I used to love them back in junior high. I guess, entering uni those glossy lips just attracted too much attention from teachers, so eventually I had to stopped wearing them. However, now that I've graduated I started using them again and this little baby is one of my gloss collections.

Tony Moly Petite Bunny Gloss in Strawberry (01)

How I Use It
I will either layer it on top of a lipstick or use it alone.

What I Like About It
  • The price isn't that expensive, retailing at around Rp 60,000 (USD $6) at online shops. I happen to sell them online ^^
  • You probably have noticed the ultra cute packaging. Yep, that's the main reason of purchasing this product for me
  • It has a strawberry scent which is not sickeningly sweet
  • Unlike other glosses that has the typical doe foot applicator ( is it doe foot or something else? I never knew the type of that applicator), this has a twist at the bottom, similar to a lipbalm
  • The color is quite pigmented so I can wear this alone without any other lip products
  • It gives a milky pink color to my lips
  • Unlike other glosses, this feels like applying lip balm on my lips.
  • It's not sticky or too glossy
What I Hate About It
  • It's only available online
  • As with any lip gloss, it's practically gone after I drink or eat. However, that's not a big problem for me ^^
Pictures and Swatch

I would recommend this to :
  • Someone who doesn't like the sticky feeling of a gloss
  • Someone who likes cute packaging (it's such a cute bunneh!!)
  • Someone who doesn't mind reapplying products throughout the day

Review : ZA Skin Beauty Liquid Foundation SPF 18/PA ++

Lately, I stopped using my BB creams because the color from the SKIN79 VIP Gold has become a little off on my face. I look weird up to the point that it looks ashy. So, for the past week, I have been using ZA Skin Beauty Liquid Foundation. I bought it last month and didn't have the chance to try it then because my skin is behaving badly (peeling off and getting red on my cheeks).

ZA Skin Beauty Liquid Foundation SPF 18/PA ++ #21

Provides a natural, even finish while minimizing the appearance of pores and uneven skin tone.

Contains as much hyaluronic acid as a bottle of essence.

How I Use It
I squeeze about a 2-cm diameter of product on the back of my hand. Using a foundation brush, I dipped it on the product, take off the excess by patting it on a clean area on the back of my hand, then lightly sweep all over the face. Afterwards, I use a clean sponge to smooth out any streaks to achieve a smooth, flawless-looking face.

What I Like About It
  • I can easily find them in counters at Watsons or any department store in Jakarta
  • The bottle is a twist cap packaging with a small opening for the product to come out
  • The size of the bottle is small enough to take travelling
  • It matches my skin tone very well
  • It's blended easily with either a brush or fingers
  • So far it hasn't made me break out
  • This foundation has medium coverage. It's able to conceal my acne scars (non pitted acne scars)
  • Once applied and blended evenly, it feels lightweight as if I'm not wearing any foundation
  • It has SPF 18/PA ++ which makes it suitable to be used daytime
What I Hate About It
  • There are only 4 shades available
  • Although it says that it contains hyaluronic acid for moisture, it still manages to dry my skin out in a matter of around 4 hours
  • This isn't waterproof or sweatproof, so there is a chance of the foundation to melt off during hot, humid days

I would recommend this product to :
  • Someone who has light to medium skin tone with a yellow undertone
  • Someone who has normal to combination skin type
  • Someone who didn't mind the medium coverage

Review : Kracie Ichikami Shampoo and Conditioner

This is my first review on a shampoo. I've only used it for 2 weeks in a row and switched to Ginvera's. My scalp history is one that has an oily property, but thankfully I didn't suffer from dandruff problems. I saw this shampoo at Farmer's Market and blogged about it in a haul post several weeks ago. So, after a good 2 weeks of using this shampoo + conditioner, here's my opinion about it.

Kracie Ichikami Shampoo

The shampoo is packaged in a white bottle with a flip cap on top. I saw this brand being sold at most supermarkets and Watsons.

How I Use It
As with all shampoo, I wet my hair, pour some product on my hands and massaged it into a lather on my hair. Afterwards, just rinse thoroughly.

What I Like About It
  • It's available at most supermarkets in Jakarta
  • The shampoo lathers easily
  • It gives a clean and refreshing feel after I rinsed it
  • The fragrance is a sweet and fresh floral scent
  • When my hair is dry, it feels fluffy and lightweight
What I Hate About It
  • If I didn't wash my hair the next day, it tends to make my hair oily and limp
  • I have to use the shampoo together with the conditioner to obtain soft and fluffy hair. If I used the shampoo alone, my hair usually feels coarse
  • It didn't help with my itchy scalp
Let's move on to the conditioner review and I'm gonna make this one brief. Let me just summarize it in one simple paragraph.

The Kracie Ichikami conditioner is packaged in a black bottle with a flip cap on the bottom. After using this conditioner, it made my hair soft and smooth, but nothing special. I feel the same effect from using my Dove Daily Shine conditioner.

So, the question is : Would I repurchase these two again?

Well, I have to say no because it's just an average shampoo that doesn't really help my scalp condition (my scalp tends to itch so much) and I have to use both to achieve soft, smooth and fluffy hair.

However, please keep in mind that each people react differently to the same product. Who knows this might be the best shampoo you've tried, so just give it a go.

Review : Gwendolyn Body Lotion

Hello, all you pretty girls (and guys). Today, I'm going to review a body lotion that I've been using a for around 3 months, give or take. A little bit of background on the product brand, Gwendolyn. It's a local brand here in Indonesia that produces body lotions, hand sanitizers and lip balms. You can check out their product line up just by clicking right here

Isn't it cute how the builidings are shaped like their body lotion bottles?

Gwendolyn Body Lotion
One of the characters from my favorite Rachel Raspberry

Gwendolyn Body Lotion is specifically formulated for tropical weather as it moisturizes without leaving sticky or oily feeling on your skin. Key ingredient used in the lotion is ‘jojoba oil’, which provides all-day moisturization, increasing skin’s softness and preventing the skin from cracking. Gwendolyn body lotion does not only moisturize but it also comes in a variety of lovely and long-lasting fragrances that will leave you day-dreaming and feeling delighted all day.

Water, Glyceryl Stearate, PEG-100 Stearate, Glycerin, Stearic Acid, Cetyl Alcohol, Simmondsia Chinensis (Jojoba) Seed Oil, Dimethicone, Fragrance, Mannitol, Sodium Gluconate, Citric Acid, Sodium Citrate, Waltheria Indica Leaf Extract, Dextrin, Ferulic Acid, Phenoxyethanol, Methylparaben, Ethylparaben, Propylparaben, Butylparaben, Triethanolamine, Aluminun Starch Octenylsuccinate, PEG-40 Hydrogenated Castor Oil, Trideceth-9, Bisabolol, Chamomilla Recutita (Matricaria) Extract, Acrylates / C10-30 Alkyl Acrylate Crosspolymer, Octyl Methoxycinnamate, Benzophenone-3, Panthenol, Allantoin, Tocopheryl Acetate, CI 17200:2, CI 42090.

How I Use It
I squeeze about a fingertip length amount of product onto my hand and smooth it over my arm.

What I Like About It
  • The price is super affordable. The smallest size (95 ml) is priced at Rp 25,000!
  • Their product packaging are super duper cute and adorable! Each scent has a different girl character representing that certain fragrance.
  • The bottle has a push on cap so I don't have to twist it to dispense the product. I tend to hate those twist cap packaging because I often slipped, dropped the cap and lost it because it slides under a table/desk/sofa/etc. T^T
  • The size makes it perfect to carry in my makeup bag
  • The scent is therapeutic, especially when I'm under a stressful condition. My favorite is Rachel Raspberry, which has a berry, bubble gum scent that's both sweet and energetic.
  • It doesn't feel sticky or greasy after applying it
  • My skin feels moisturized for a good 2 hours (if I'm in an air-conditioned room) and around 6 hours ( if I'm outside in a hot condition). Plus, my skin feels so smooth after using this!
What I Hate About It
  • The counter is only located at Kelapa Gading Mall and Cibubur Junction (according to their website
  • Maybe because I have super dry skin, this lotion isn't as moisturizing as Vivelle body lotion. However, I still like to use this.

I would recommend this to :
  • Someone who likes scented body lotions
  • Someone who's on the go and likes to reapply body lotion, but want a compact size to fit in their bag

Review : PIXY Tinted Moisturizing Lotion

A week ago, I went grocery shopping at this new place at Kelapa Gading called Lotte Mart. I'm surprised that they have a PIXY counter and immediately went there to "browse". I ended up buying a two way cake (powder foundation), a tinted moisturizer and two nail polishes. Here is the review on the tinted moisturizer.

PIXY Tinted Moisturizing Lotion

Moisturizer functioned as transparent light foundation. Helps to moisten skin, making powder
stick longer and skin looks evenly soft.

How I Use It
I squeeze a 2-cm diameter amount of product onto the back of my hand. Depending on my mood that day, I will either use my fingers (looks natural), a stippling brush (looks more polished and neat) or a foundation brush (looks more flawless).

What I Like About It
  • It's available at most PIXY counters at the department store and/or some supermarket in Jakarta
  • It's reasonably priced, retailing at Rp 25,000 (USD 3) (prices may vary)
  • The bottle is just made at an adorable size with a flip cap on top
  • There are some ingredients (talc) that are common allergens to some individuals, so be sure to check the list as always
  •  The texture is on the runnier side, making blending easy
  • It feels lightweight on my face, as if wearing just a regular lotion
  • It doesn't exaggerate my dry patches
  • It only lasts for 4 hours on my face, which is normal for a tinted moisturizer
  • The coverage is in between sheer and medium. It is able to cover up SOME of my acne scars, but not able to cover my dark spots
  • There isn't a strong scent
What I Hate About It
  • It only comes in 1 shade
  • It's only good for people with normal to dry skin, since it does make my T-zone oily throughout the day (I have combination skin)

I would recommend this to :
  • Someone who didn't have much to cover since the coverage isn't a full coverage
  • Someone who is looking for a product to even out their skin tone, instead of covering them up
  • Someone who has normal to dry skin and wanted a product that is lighter than a foundation
  • Someone who has a light skin tone

Review : Johnson's Baby Cream

I know that I have been raving about my hand cream from Kose about it being good and CHEAP. However, I found another cream that replaces it.

I went for grocery shopping the other day and in the baby section, I randomly picked a baby cream. Why? It's in this small squeeze tube that's pink, cute and adorable!!

Johnson's Baby Cream (Pink Tube)

How I Use It

I squeeze a tiny amount (around half a fingertip) onto the palm of my hand and rubbed my hand together to let it sink in. I sometimes use this on my arms and legs.

What I Like About It
  • It's available in the baby section in nearly every supermarket at Jakarta
  • The price isn't expensive, retailing at Rp 14,000 (prices may vary)
  • The squeeze tube with a flip cap is just my definition of a well-made packaging.
  • There aren't any harmful ingredients found in it
  • Texture is creamy-dense, but blends easily to the skin
  • It has a nice powdery scent
  • I'm amazed at the level of moisturization that it provides. It moisturizes my skin overnight! I woke up with soft and smooth arms (which is rare, despite the ridiculous amount of body lotion I apply --")
  • The time it takes to sink into the skin is shocking. It gets absorbed faster than my previous hand creams and body lotions.
  • After sinking in, my skin feels smooooooooth~
What I Hate About It
  • So far, I haven't thought of anything bad about this product
I would recommend this product to :
  • Someone who likes baby-scented products ^^
  • Someone who has dry skin

Review : NYX HD Photogenic Concealer Wand

Seeing that one of my favorite concealers from Revlon (Colorstay Blemish Concealer) is now being discontinued, it's time to search for a new one that will do the job. I searched high and low for a similar texture and found NYX's HD Photogenic Concealer in Beige. I've already included this in one of my monthly faves, but never posted a full review on it. Without further ado, here it is.

NYX HD Concealer Wand
My shade is Beige

It's hydrating, perfect for everyday use and one of the best sellers from NYX.
At least, that what the three symbols on top means.

How I Use It

I take a small dab and placed on the back of my hand. I take a fluffy eye blending brush, pat a little amount of concealer on the bristles and apply it on the blemishes present on my face.

What I Like About It
  • It's quite affordable, retailing at Rp 70,000 (prices may vary) at most online shops
  • The bottle itself is small and thin, so it doesn't take up much space in my makeup bag
  • It has 12 shades to choose from, also has color corrector shades (green and violet)
  • It doesn't break me out
  • The texture is slightly creamy, but blends easily with either a brush or fingertips
  • Staying power is around 4-5 hours on my face when set with powder and around 2-3 hours when it's not set
  • The pigmentation is wonderful, so I don't need a lot of products for my blemishes, which results in a natural looking makeup
  • It provides a medium coverage on me, hence able to cover my acne scars
What I Hate About It
  • I wish it's packaged in a squeeze tube for hygienic purposes

I would recommend this to :
  • Someone who has mild, non pitted acne scars and wants to cover it, yet still looks natural
  • Someone who has normal/combination/dry skin type because it is a bit hydrating so the finish will be slightly dewy

Review : Maybelline Lip Smooth Color and Care

Having dry chapped lips are just one of the worst feelings I have to go through if I've forgotten my lip balm at home that day. I lick my lips constantly (a bad habit), hence drying them out even more.

So, when I shopped at Watsons last week, I stopped buy at the Maybelline counter to get the clear smooth blushes, but also bought this just because it looked cute. I know it's not a good enough reason to buy something, but I'm trying my best to get rid of that habit.

After a good week, here's my take on the lip balm.

Maybelline New York Lip Smooth Color and Care in 'Strawberry'

A lip balm that has SPF 15 and a sheer touch of color.

How I Use It
I apply in the morning and reapply it if my lips feel dry (around every 2 hours)

What I Like About It
  • It's readily available in most Maybelline counters in Jakarta
  • The price isn't too expensive (I forgot the exact price, but I think it was around Rp 30,000-ish)
  • The packaging is just lovely and adorable, with white circles all over
  • It fits into my makeup bag perfectly since it is compact and smaller than my Nivea Essential Care
  • It has a slight strawberry sweet scent
  • Adds a bit of color on my lips, but nothing too bold or vibrant
  • Feels moisturizing on my lips
  • It has SPF 15, but without that sunscreen taste like the Nivea ones (not essential care, the yellow one, if I'm not mistaken)
What I Hate About It
  • So far, nothing
I would recommend it to :
  • People who have normal to dry lips
  • Someone who dislikes lipsticks or lip glosses, but want a sheer touch of color on the lips
  • Someone who wants a moisturized lips and protected from the sun
P.S: I was thinking about holding a weekly monthly giveaway (internationally), so you guys can try out some of the stuff that I have been liking that week month. There will only be one item, though. So, let me know if you're interested in the comment section. Thanks a lot guys ^^

Review : TheFaceShop LovelyMe:Ex Auto Eyebrow 03 Grey

Let's talk eyebrows today, bloggers. It is those two arches on top of your eyes that are able to enhance your facial features. Some shave them, tweeze them even thread them to shape them accordingly to one's facial features. It is said that if you have a round face, it's best to shape your brows with a slightly more noticeable arch. Maybe I should try shaping them into a more interesting shape sometime.

Anyway, since I don't really experiment with my brows' shape, I rarely use an eyebrow pencil to fill in the gaps. However, if I do feel that my brows are lacking definition, I will use this eyebrow pencil that I purchased from TheFaceShop.

TheFaceShop LovelyMe:Ex Auto Eyebrow

An automatic pencil eyebrow that doesn't need sharpening. You'll just have to turn it to get more product out. It also comes with a spoolie to blend the color on the eyebrows, achieving a natural looking eyebrow.

How I Use It

I rotate only until I can see the stick. Don't twist it out too long because it has the tendency to break easily since the product is a bit on the soft side, unlike most pencils that need to be sharpened.

After drawing in the gaps, I brush it with the spoolie to blend the colors more.

What I Like About It

  • Readily available in most TFS counters all over Jakarta
  • The price is considered cheap, retailing at Rp 28,000 (US$ 3) when I pre-ordered it
  • The brush at the end has quite a good quality
  • They have various shades such as, dark brown, light brown, grey and more
  • It has quite a long staying power
  • Pigmentation is amazing

What I Hate About It
  • The 'coal' is rather flimsy and brittle, so careful when using it

I got mine in Grey because every time I fill my brows with brown-colored pencils, it ended up looking weird and out of place on my face.

I would recommend this to :
  • Someone who dislikes sharpening their eyebrow pencils
  • Someone who always loses the spoolie brush *raises own hand*

Review : Maybelline New York BB Cream

Hello, fellow BB cream lovers. I bet you're already aware of this product, especially if you live in Jakarta. This product is available at most Watsons, Guardian, Century, particularly any drugstore/department store that sells Maybelline New York products.

This BB Cream has been released earlier this year in Jakarta, but I've only tried it last month. So, after a month of using this, it's to review it.

Maybelline New York Clear Smooth Minerals Instant Skin Perfecting Cream (BB Cream)

Our Instant Skin Perfecting Cream is a perfect blend of 8 mineral ingredients. The unique earth color shade instantly improves and perfects your skin.

  • Brightens skin: visible whitening effect
  • Covers imperfections: reduces the appearance of pores, skin redness disappears
  • Moisturizes + Protects : all day hydration + helps to protect skin from UV rays and free radicals
How I Use It

I squeeze a 2 cm diameter on the back of my hand and apply it evenly all over my face and neck, after using my sunscreen. However, if my face is drier than usual, I would mix this with a little moisturizer.

What I Like About It
  • It's readily available here in Jakarta at most drugstore/department store
  • The price tag is very affordable, retailing at Rp 30,000 (prices may vary)
  • It's nicely packaged in a compact, travel-friendly squeeze tube
  • Ingredients are nothing to worry about
  • It has no fragrance
  • It blends effortlessly on my face
  • After blending it all in, it feels lightweight on my face, unlike wearing foundation
  • It has sheer to medium (if you apply more than 2 layers) coverage. It evens out my skin tone (redness on my cheeks), but doesn't really cover my blemishes
  • It gives a satin finish, between dewy and matte
  • It didn't break me out
  • I can see immediate brightening of my face

What I Hate About It
  • If used alone, it accentuates the dry flakes on my face
  • It only comes in 1 shade, which is a natural beige (sort of)
  • It's not very moisturizing for me (dry skin)

Even though it says cream, the texture can be described more as lotion than cream.

I will recommend this product for :
  • People with combination/oily skin as it gives a more satin finish, rather than dewy
  • People who won't mind sheer coverage
  • People who isn't sensitive against silicone-based products (note that this has dimethicone as the third ingredient)
Have you tried this BB cream yet?

Swatch : MAC Viva Glam Cyndi Lauper Edition Lipstick and Lipglass

I'm not a huge MAC aficionado, probably because of the price. Plus, MAC are well know for their eyeshadows, which I rarely use, so, I rarely purchased from them. However, I like the black, bullet like packaging for their lipsticks as it looks chic and stylish. Again, I rarely buy MAC lipsticks because I don't really  want to pay for Rp 195,000 for a lipstick that I seldom use. However, do keep in mind that I have nothing against MAC, it's just out of my price range.

Having said that, I confess to buying one MAC lipstick and lipglass from the Cyndi Lauper collection. I know that this collection is old, but I realized I never did a swatch for both lipstick and lipglass. You're probably wondering why I splurge and got these items. It's because MAC will be donating every cent they make off the Viva Glam lipstick and lipglass to the people affected by HIV/AIDS. Well, that's good enough for me.

MAC Viva Glam Cyndi Lauper Lipstick and Lipglass

I would use it for big nights out like weddings because it's only for 2 hours max and by then the lipstick would've probably worn off from my lips. I tend to bite my lips, so lip products doesn't stay that long on my lips.

The lipstick doesn't really dry out my lips, but it does feel a bit heavy (Note: I RARELY use lipstick) for me. I find the color to be reddish coral, which (weird enough) suits my skin tone. It's not a very vibrant color, so it's suitable for everyday use.

The lipglass is opaque enough to be used on its own. I find the texture a bit sticky, but again, probably just my personal preference.
Left is the lipstick, right is the lipglass

Overall, I like the lipstick, as it makes my face looks fresh and cheerful. I don't quite like the lipglass as it's a bit sticky for my liking.

Review : Canmake Cream Cheek Blush

I was rummaging through my beauty drawers and stumbled on this blush. I forgot to do a review on it, so here it is.

Canmake Cream Cheek Blush
At the moment, I only own these two shades.

Creates a complexion that exudes health from deep within your skin, like a fountain of happiness.Blends in with your skin as though melting into it, ensuring that your complexion stays looking dewy-fresh for hours on end.
Surprising texture! A melting gel-type formulation that becomes dry after application.
  • The melting gel-type texture, which is silky-soft on your fingers, becomes dry from the instant you apply it to your cheeks!
  • Contains masses of emollient agents that are highly compatible with your skin (squalene of vegetable origin and amino acid-based emollients), enclosed in a special stretchy gel, which not only protects your skin from drying out, but also improves the blusher’s adhesion to your skin, making it longer-lasting.
  • Highly compatible with all foundations!
  • Can be used on top of powder foundations and liquid foundations.

Left is a bit peachy, right is milky pink-ish.
Versatile coloring
  • Gel-type formulation for vibrant color that looks just as it does in the container.
  • Melts into your skin, revising your complexion to make it look as though it has been lit from within, and lasts for hours and hours.
  • There are various ways to layer the colors!

Apply one layer only for a natural complexion.
Apply further layers to your preferred degree of intensity, to customize your look!

How I Use It

With my index and middle finger, I dipped it into the blush and  continue to dot it on my cheeks. It's just a matter of blending it with my fingers to achieve a natural-looking blush.

What I Like About It
  • It has 11 shades, although I can only locate 5 at the moment.
  • The packaging is compact enough to be carried anywhere in my makeup bag (it doesn't take much space)
  • The texture is creamy so it gives a nice satin finish
  • It blends easily on my face
  • It doesn't have a specific scent
  • Whenever I have 'Marshmallow Pink' on, I look awake and fresh.
What I Hate About It
  • It's not readily available here in Jakarta
  • The staying power isn't that great, only 2 hours tops on my face. Probably because I sweat a lot and scratch my face several times throughout the day. Not to mention, I sprayed Avene Thermal Water to freshen up, maybe that's why it doesn't stay that long

Left : Peach Dream
Marshmallow Pink

It is one of my favorite blushes since it looks more natural. It feels really light, as well.

I would recommend this to :
  • Someone who likes cream blushes
  • Someone who won't wind reapplying it since the staying power isn't that great
