Etude House

Haul: Etude House

Thursday, September 30, 2010

Today, I decided to go for a facial treatment at Emporium Pluit Mall because it has been more than a month since my last blackhead extraction. I need those temporary residents out of my pores, immediately. Besides, it's actually recommended to do blackhead extractions before they turn into acne. In my case, pustule acne with those yellow substance about to burst out anytime of the day.

I first went to ACE Hardware to get a shedding brush for my puppy, Shiro. She's now entering her third month where shedding just takes place like no other. There are fur on the couch, chairs, garden, stairs, it's just massive. Well, I can't really blame her, she is changing her puppy coat to her adult coat. A more coarse type of hair usually found on adults. Aw, my little Shiro is growing up. *single tear*

I got the shedding brush, a small slicker brush and a nail clip. Her nails got long in a quick time, despite the fact that she was regularly running every evening. I also grabbed a 600 mL tumbler from Rubbermaid because I feel like it and it's blue :) I got her treats from a nearby pet shop because hers ran out and she refused to be trained without a treat.

Anyway, I got to Emporium and the first thing I think of is going to Etude House because there might be promotions as the month is coming to a close. Every time I went to an Etude House store, damage is always done. Here they are as follows.

Just disregard the Koji eye talk and Masami Shouko brush.

This is the first thing I reached for when I caught a glimpse of it. I have been in love with their Petit Bijou line because it has a soft and pleasant fragrance. I decided to get the Peach Touch because it smells really fruity and girly. Yes, I just said girly. Me. Someone who is not as close as girly, but sometimes I do want girly things as I AM A GIRL.

Did you just squeal at the sight of this perfume bottle? If yes, then you are just like me who loves cute things, whatever they are. I know it's very very cute. It's a 30 mL packaging and costs IDR 198,000. I love this because the size is compact, enabling me to carry it in my bag because I have been looking for miniature perfumes to do the job. However, the search is over for me, as this will be placed in my bag at all times.

A more close up look on the perfume bottle with a detailed pink flower-shaped rubber on top.

These two are my favorite lip tint from Etude House.

Etude House Tint Gloss in #3. It is a peach colored tint and gloss in the same packaging. So, when the gloss has faded away, the tint will still be there. This is one of Etude House's old products that I like and it is running low on stock. I have another one that is more of a pink colored tint gloss. It very moisturizing on my lips and gives a shine because it is a gloss that contains shimmers.

Another favorite tint from Etude House is the 55 Kissful Tint Chou. I don't know why it's named that way, ask those Koreans why. It gives my lips a natural tint and gloss at the same time, but the color is more vibrant than the tint gloss. Maybe because it doesn't contain any shimmers in the product.

Tint Gloss (left) and Tint Chou (Right).

I got another perfume from Etude House called Pure espoir. It has a floral scent, but a soft finish. Excuse my bad description of a perfume.

The box has glitters embedded on it. Love!

The packaging is just too adorable to pass. Plus, the scent is really my style!

I then went for my facial treatment at Natasha because I don't want to look like someone who got stung by a bee going shopping at Etude House. It took 90 minutes to finish the whole treatment, but I do feel that my face is cleaner, softer and smoother. It's a love-hate relationship I have with facial treatments.

Before going home, I decided to stop by Sogo to get a slanted angled brush in order to apply Maybelline gel liner. I just can't use the brush that Maybelline provided with the gel liner. It's too soft. Anyhoo, I got the slanted angled brush from Masami Shouko and Koji Eye Talk.

My favorite brush for gel liners. I lost mine a few weeks ago.

If you've known me since junior high, you must've known that my eye size is not uniformly shaped. My right eyelid droops more than the left. I have been using eyelid tapes for the past decade, but lately it doesn't seem to work. So, I thought I'll go back to the trusty eyelid glue and shaper.

That is how I just spent my day, ladies and gentlemen. I ended my trip to Emporium with a tall Java Chip Frappucino from Starbucks and it was the best frappucino I've had in 3 years. Those guys should really get a raise for making such a marvelous drink!

Haul: TBS & More Stickers!!

Saturday, September 25, 2010

Judging by the title of this post, a shocked reaction or a teensie gasp is expected from all of you. Yes, it is another haul post. I'm on a roll here!! Well, on a roll to empty my wallet, probably. Anyway, before I start to type various un-haul-related things, let's just begin with pictures. Don't you just love pictures?

I went to The Body Shop to look for new fragrances to use with my aromatherapy device that I've showed in my previous post. As I got to the store, I was quite surprised that they've already got the new packaging for the essential oils. I've seen CherryChan108 do a review on the 'Sandalwood & Ginger' one in this new packaging and was intrigued to buy a new one. I got 2 scents that my bf and I quite like.
My first pick was the 'Tuberose & Orchid' home fragrance oil. To me, it smells like roses that has morning dew on it (not the drink!).

I let my bf pick which one he wanted and he picked this up. I was kinda scared of the scent because it smells like going to a funeral where everything just reeks of jasmine. Well, at least in Indonesia, people use jasmine as a funeral/burial flower. So, I guess I won't be using this when I'm home alone, but I do like the scent!

This is the older packaging of the home fragrance oil from The Body Shop. I prefer the bottle from the older version, but loving the new sticker on the recent bottle.

I know what you're thinking, more stickers. What the hell is wrong with me? Nothing is. It's just that I'm into making a scrapbook like I used to back in high school. I'm getting older and I want to cherish my memories while I still can. That, and I have loads of free time.

I found these cute self stick notes that you can bookmark your books with. I was looking for a dog version, but all they have is a rabbit and a bear version. It's okay, remembering that I'm not really expecting to stumble on to these cute little things.

After shopping, we obviously got hungry, so I suggested to try out a new restaurant called Jia something. It's a noodle house where you choose your own noodles, veggies, meatballs, etc. We shared a bowl since my bf is still full from his lunch.  As you can see from the picture, it might look like a small portion, but the bowl is pretty deep, so it's quite a mouthful to finish.

This is the first thing that I grabbed from the bowl because I am a sucker for fish balls. Not literal fish BALLS. However, I was surprised when my bf pointed out that there's a filling inside. It's quite salty, but I think it's minced fish meat, if I have to guess. It tasted okay, apart from the saltiness level.

Then, there was this wonton. After tasting the fish ball, I had lower expectations for this 'dumpling' to taste good. Yet, I was wrong. This is one of the yummiest wontons that I've ever tasted. I can actually note the ginger and sesame oil with minced meat in it, which wontons rarely tasted that way now.

Last picture of the day before we went home from the mall. I took this picture just for fun while waiting for our driver to come. Turns out to be a good picture for someone with shaky hands!

New Theme and Hauls

Friday, September 24, 2010

As I'm typing this post, I'm listening to The Beat Crusaders' Tonight, Tonight! which is a soundtrack from Bleach. So, if you're reading this post, you must've noticed my new blogspot theme that I got from a website that I totally forgot, silly me. I liked how it emphasizes the title of my blog, with it being a diary of a product addict. So, you like it?

Today, I went to the mall alone and that is something that I haven't really done in a while. I went to Etude House because I got their text message saying that I got the 'Buy 1 get 1' promotion. So, I got there and browse for the things that I actually need, in terms of skincare/makeup department. I ended up buying their new O2 White serum that is mixed with the powder and received a free brightening eyes duo. I chose the eyes duo because it has an eye cream and a concealer, quite unique product. I'll update you on the products when I'm done with it.

Etude House O2 Intensive Whitening Serum.

1 piece of intensive serum & 12 packets of Vitamin C powder

A cream base (left) and flesh tone concealer (right). I'm starting to have low expectations on this product.

Long story short, before going home, I went to Paperclip to look for a small desk to put my laptop when I'm browsing on my bed. However, I ended up getting other stuff because I couldn't find the desk. I got stickers, photo albums and wall decorations. Here are the pictures of the damage.

How can I resist not buying this cute bird?!

Stickers, just because I'm ADD.

New wall decorations. Hmm, I haven't filled the whole wall now, have I? *evil thought*

Close up picture on how I arrange them. Excuse me for not being a great artist.

After decorating my room, I feel kinda down because I'm feeling a little bit exhausted. I decided to put on a facial mask from My Beauty Diary since I just repurchase them for my backups. I love these facial masks! They are very moisturizing yet not sticky once you finished using them. Today, I'm using Japanese Cherry Blossom from My Beauty Diary.

What it claims to do. I do feel moisturized and brightened, though!

Packaging is super nice and slightly cute, remembering that it's a Japanese product.

List of ingredients that contains no alcohol! Great product!

So, what do you like to do to relax and wind down?

Etude House

Review: Etude House Magic Bubble Peeling

Tuesday, September 21, 2010

As I woke up this morning, I thought I should do more reviews on my Etude House collection, just because I have loads of them. So, today, I'll be reviewing the exfoliator from Etude House.

Etude House Magic Bubble Peeling

How I Use It
Shake the can well. Spray some on my face and massage it all over until little grains appear. If grains stopped appearing, rinse.

What I like about it
  • The pump dispenses the product easier

  • The foam is very fluffy (^.~)

  • Only a small amount (about a 3 cm diameter) is needed for my whole face
  • Exfoliates really gently and removes the dead skin cells

  • My face feels very smooth afterwards

What I don't like about it
  • Might not be suitable for sensitive/dry skin
  • It has a strong chemical fragrance
  • Feels a little bit tight after rinsing it off
  • Can't read the ingredients list since they're all Korean >.<

Overall, I liked how this exfoliates my face several times a week, but I was really put off by the strong scent. Other than that, I think it's a decent exfoliator from Etude House. I rate this 7/10. 3 points off for the very strong scent.

P.S: Sorry for the lack of words in this post. Somehow, I'm not feeling like writing a post today, but I gotta do it, y'know? Hope this helps!

Avene

Haul: Avene & O.P.I

Monday, September 20, 2010

On my previous post, I said that I picked up a few things when going out with my friends. I have been looking for a nail polish that will not be so dramatic, yet not too subtle that people aren't going to notice that I am wearing a nail polish. I went to O.P.I's website and found a shade called 'Who Needs a Prince?', which is a light pink with a reddish-purple shimmers all over it. I am immediately in love with this shade!! Okay, I'll stop rambling and show you the pictures. Keep in mind that I haven't swatched this yet.

My camera is bitching out again. So, I'm not sure that you can actually see the shimmers in the bottle. I also got the RapiDry Top coat by O.P.I just because it's small and cute. Stupid thing is that I've just bought Sally Hansen's Mega Shine a month ago and haven't even finish half of it and here I am buying a new top coat. Stupid me. Oh well, at least it's cute!

If you're wondering, the SA gave me the box because they were running out paper bags. That's why the angle of the camera is weird in here.

Before going home, we stopped at Guardian to purchase our necessities. I bought Avene's Thermal Water which really helped in decreasing redness on my face. It's also useful for setting my makeup and times when my face just needs soothing. It contains silica which is good in smoothing out the surface of my face and helps to mattifies it as well. I got one in full size and one in travel size to put in my bag. Currently, I really love this spray.

Have you ever heard of a moisturizing bra? I haven't! As I've told you that I went shopping for bra yesterday and found these very cheap bra for only IDR 99,000. It was only until I reached home to wash the bra and taking off the tags when I noticed the label. I showed it to my bf and he LMAOed. I was also confused as to how this can moisturize my breasts? Gawd, the things people do to make money.

Grand Indonesia

A Day Out With My "PIC"

Monday, September 20, 2010

Good Monday to you all! It's the start of the weekend again, but not to fret, weekend will soon come around the bend, so ganbatteeeee~~ Anyways, I had so much fun eating and shopping with my best friend yesterday at Grand Indonesia. It was a really unexpected meet up that wasn't even planned weeks before, something spontaneous you might say.

We had a "BIG" lunch at Paulaner Brauhaus because we said to each other that we'll try it out someday, even though I've already had lunches and dinner there. We had 3 main courses and a bowl of Goulash soup.

There was really nothing special with this bowl of soup. I'd prefer it to be thicker, not runnier. The taste was that of an average Goulash soup, I guess I have to try the original one from Gawd-knows-where.

Since my bf and I had already had lunch just a few hours prior, we decided to split our dish. We ordered the Escale hunter or whatever. Basically, it a breaded pork loin, deep fried and served with pan-fried potatoes and mushroom gravy. The breaded pork is too salty to my liking, but the gravy helped save the dish by adding a hint of sweetness and sourness to the dish. The potatoes were too oily, as if they were soaked in oil before cooking.

I've had this the last time I went to Paulaner. I have to say that it's a very savoury pork dish, but as I keep eating it one single feeling begin to emerge. Boredom. This dish is so huge in portion that I grew tired of eating the same flavours. I think it's best that I eat half, just so I don't get bored halfway eating it. So, yesterday, we split this between the 4 of us and it was deli -wait for it- cious!

A friend of mine ordered Fish Fillets and only then I begin to notice that everytime we went to a restaurant, she always orders a dish that is fish-related. Well, maybe that's just a coincidence, lol. Anyway, this is my new favorite dish at Paulaner. The fish fillets are very fresh there wasn't even a fish smell to it! Now, that's a good sign of an excellent fish! The tartar sauce was very tangy and flavourful, I love it! I don't know what type of fish this is, but if I have to guess, probably a John Dory? Don't quote me on that, though, I'm not sure.

I'm not a big fan of lagers, so I ordered jasmine green tea for my drink. My bf ordered the 500 ml lager and my friends got tea, as well. It's not that I don't like alcoholic drinks, I do, don't get me wrong. It's just that I prefer liquors than beers and I'm trying to hold back on the Vodka. Look at that cool contraception my tea cup! It's supposed to filter out the tea leaves as I poured it from the teapot. KewL!

After lunch, I wanted to get a nail polish from O.P.I, so my bestie showed me where she usually got her nail related products. It was this store called Qtik or something at Grand Indonesia. I got my nail polish and top coat, but I'll talk about it in another post.

Where is the dessert part you asked? Well, after purchasing my nail polish, we all went for ice cream at Haagen-Dasz. I got the coffee flavour, my bf chose strawberry and my friends got double scoops.

We shopped around for another hour and then went home. It was a really pleasant day that I get to spend with my best friend and bf. Love you all! *hugs*

Last pic in my post. This is my best friend eating her plate of salad since no one was going to have it. I've known her since 5th grade and am really thankful that I did. Wuv you, dear. <3
